Anxiety and Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy and Anxiety

Today is the symbolic Monday of  Labor day weekend, which typically means, end of summer is upon us. That is, winding down from summer craziness of traveling – camping – hiking – back yard parties – beaches – park rides, and for most of the students, start of new school year after a long summer break. For many, all this could be a cause of anxiety.
Anxiety is a general feeling of apprehension, eg: reaching school on time, new class mates, new teachers, home-work, etc. Many studies have shown the usefulness of Essential Oils in alleviating anxiety. Since centuries, Essential Oils have been utilized in cosmetics, fragrances, healing, health remedies, and as an antiseptic. These Essential Oils are natural, concentrated extracts taken from the roots, leaves, seeds, bark, or blossoms of plants and should be diluted for a safe topical application following an expert advice and all safety rules.

Anxiety Air Freshener Recipe:

  • In a 4 oz spray glass bottle, add essential oils. Then mix with distilled water and alcohol. Label the bottle and let the blend sit for a day before using it. Spray as needed, mixing well before each use. (If aroma is too strong, can reduce essential oils to 18 drops per your sensitivity)
