Wishes for an Aromatic 2019!

Do you know………….from here on, I thought of starting my every day with all the things that I am thankful for. First, being grateful to the Almighty for his blessings, the next on my list is you all for giving me strength and keeping me motivated to follow my passion of Aromatherapy, then my friends, family, and strangers who are kind to me. My list kept growing with the sense of well-being and gratitude;

  • Remembering that I am loved, though I feel totally alone, but I am just lonely for one specific person, my husband, who left me alone for the Heavenly Abode too early. It makes me very sad and sometimes depressed. I read this beautiful line, “To remember brings a painful joy,” as if it was written just for me.
  • I have gradually learnt and trained myself to focus on present and continue to do my best by changing my emotional state from being sad (which certainly is the most difficult task) and feeling sorry for myself.
  • Not be fearful of life’s debacles and fight it patiently with intelligence. With this affirmation, I would like to wish everyone,

A Peaceful-Safe-Happy-Aromatic 2019!

Avoid Holiday Stress with Aromatherapy

A Lovely Christmas-Eve Morning to you all!

Do you know………….. We’re a society of chronic stress, an awful fact, that many of us don’t realize, but everyone likes to have some peace, quiet, and the inner serenity. Especially around Holidays, we get stressed for many reasons like; the stress of planning, stress of gift exchange, stress of having family-friends over or visiting them, financial stress, and the stress of keeping up with the fast-pace schedule amidst job-family responsibilities. Though, Christmas is no doubt the best time of the year.

While vastly different, each stressful situation, whether life-threatening or simple inconvenience, or dealing with day to day life or constantly under attack by outside forces (especially, our own loved ones), triggers a fight or flight response, releasing adrenaline and cortisol into the bloodstream. Adrenaline increases blood pressure and boosts energy supplies, while cortisol releases glucose into the bloodstream, and even altering the immune system which can cause some serious health risks, including:

Insomnia

High blood-pressure

Depression, Increased anxiety

Hormonal imbalances

Hostility and rage

Aggressive and impulsive behavior

This is why we need to work towards de-cluttering our life. Take a step back, and assess what is stressing you out? To avoid the holiday stress, plan things ahead of time including the regular weekly schedule, try to incorporate 20-60 minutes of daily exercise routine, make sure to have 8 hours of quality sleep per night, and spend time with family-friends-loved ones to comfort the heart and soul. Essential oils are probably best known for their calming and relaxing properties to maintain physical and mental health. Essential Oils can be applied topically with proper dilution on wrist, neck, temple or can be used in diffuser. Some of the pure, natural, classic holiday aroma of Essential Oils such as Cinnamon, Clove, Pine, Orange, Tangerine, Peppermint, Myrrh, Nutmeg, Ginger, Lavender, Frankincense, Sandalwood, Spruce, Patchouli, can help weather seasonal stress.

10 drops Clove

5 drops Geranium or Ylang ylang

5 drops Pine

Blend oils in a 5 ml dark glass euro bottle, close, mix, label, and add 8-10 drops to diffuser or in a candle warmer as desired.

Aromatherapy and Essential Oil

Do you know……………Aromatherapy is an art and science of using Essential Oils for our physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, while Essential Oils with different therapeutic properties are the natural, concentrated, volatile, extracted product of the plants and its parts. Aromatherapy is a form of alternative, holistic medicine that can be used in conjunction with allopathic/conventional medicine to alleviate physical and emotional ailments.

Essential oils have been used for centuries as healing agents, fragrance for promoting health and relaxation, as well as antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiseptic agents. The term Essential Oil means that it carries a distinct essence of plant and has been referred as ‘Liquid sun energy’ by Ayurvedic medicine. Since ancient times, the aromatic plants have been used in herbal medicinal healing in; India, China, Egypt, Greece, France, and by Native Americans. The modern day Aromatherapy was accidentally discovered by a French Chemist, Rene-Maurice Gattefosse, in 1910, when he got burnt while working in the laboratory and dipped his hand in the basin of a liquid, which turned out to be the Lavender Essential Oil. His work was published in 1937 under, ‘Aromatherapie’, followed by Dr. Jean Valnet, an army physician (1920-1995), and Marguerite Maury, a nurse, did several research on Essential Oils and her book, ‘Le Capital Jeunesse’ was published in 1961. Throughout World WarII, Essential Oils were used to treat wounded soldiers. In recent times, Robert Tisserand, often called,‘The Father of Modern Aromatherapy’, who translated the first two Aromatherapy books into English and later wrote his own book, ‘The Art of Aromatherapy’.

Essential Oils are generally inhaled or applied topically with proper dilution (refer to aromawellness.net) on the skin, but oral use is permissible in France, Germany, and Switzerland. Just like any other medicine, proper safety and precaution must be observed during the application of Essential Oils.

Invigorating Body Wash for Health Care Workers

Do you know……..For all Health Care Workers, it’s important to maintain our physical-emotional health and stay fit spiritually so to continue to help others without causing harm to ourselves. Because we are constantly carrying the burden of others’ struggles-problems-sickness while coping with our own personal challenges. To live a true meaningful happy life is not only feeling good and living luxurious life rather contributing to others happiness and to be of service in the world which comes with spiritual maturity away from our own ego. I read somewhere, Ego is attachment to a rock image of ourselves and Spiritual development is the acceptance of mortality which unfortunately, most of us don’t think or speak about. We are unprepared for this natural process of regression from younger years to old age or to terminal illness and find it very difficult to embrace the death and the grief that accompanies life’s end. Spirituality, enables us to achieve this emotional balance between our accomplishments-failures, to reconnect-revise our plans, to forgive-be forgiven, say goodbye to this life-to people we love and welcome whatever might come next.

Here is the Aromatherapy invigorating Body Wash recipe to be used in the morning for uplifting and enhancing the mood:

Invigorating Body Wash

½ cup Unscented Castile Soap

¼ cup Aloe Vera Gel

¼ cup Sweet Almond, or can use Jojoba, Grape seed, Sesame, or olive oil

40 drops sweet Orange Essential Oil

20 drops Lavender Essential Oil

20 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil

16 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

In 8oz(1cup) plastic squirt top bottle(to avoid falling and breaking of a glass bottle in shower), add unscented Castile Soap, Aloe Vera Gel, sweet Almond Oil, and Essential Oils, close the cap, mix, label and allow to set for 24 hours. Mix well before each use in the morning during shower

Goodbye to Negativity with Aromatherapy

Do you know…………Have you ever met Mr./Ms. Downer, who takes you to negative lane when you are trying to change your track? Negative energy in our space and aura, is not beneficial and can leave us more exhausted, stressed, anxious, and grumpy. We even forget to savor the everyday beauty in life. Our emotions are deeply embedded in our cells and based on how we process our emotions, our thoughts, we create negativity. Which means, our DIS-EASE, becomes the cause of our DISEASE. Signs of negativity:

Anger, usually directed at someone else

Fear of Abandonment

Anxiety, irritability

Fear of Failure

Low self esteem

Grief

In Ancient Egyptian and European cultures, in Eastern cultures and Native American cultures, it is believed that the built up negative energy in homes, spaces, body, and mind can be cleared with smudging rituals utilizing herbs and essential oils. Burn herbs like, Sage smudge sticks, Hyssop, Rosemary and fumigate your living space and yourself or simply sprinkle sea salt or put a bowl of sea salt in the corner of the room as salt crystals absorb negative energy (research the proper process of smudging).

Essential Oils are nature’s magic that have been used since ages can help create the environment conducive to living a happy, healthy, peaceful life by directly stimulating the limbic system of our brain, the “EMOTIONAL BRAIN”. Essential Oils have empowering, spiritual benefits to combat daily negativity with their natural chemical therapeutic properties:

Palo Santo (holy wood or sacred wood)

Cypress, Juniper Berry, Cedarwood

Grapefruit, Lemon

Frankincense, Myrrh

Sage, Basil, Fennel

Lavender, Patchouli

To remove negative thoughts and emotions:

First de-clutter your space to get rid of the mess around you.

Take a cold or warm shower as water have healing properties and helps to wash away the energetic mess that formulates around your body.

Practice regular Meditation and Yoga.

Diffuse and Inhale Essential Oils with loving intentions for calm and peace. Add few drops of Frankincense and Patchouli oils in your body lotion for amazing beauty benefits as well as a protective shield against negativity and peace of mind.
