Wintergreen is extensively used in pain relieving formulas, as its chemical makeup is essentially like liquid asprin.

Major Constituents:
Menthyl Salicylate and Gaultherilene are the two main components of this essential oil. Wintergreen Essential Oil contains 85-99% of methyl salicylate the same active ingredient as Birch.

This oil is also Anti-Inflammatory, Astringent, helps Joint & Muscle problems, Antiseptic, Aromatic. Essential oil of wintergreen is toxic and should never be taken internally. It’s very potent skin irritation, therefore should be used sparingly, as the active phytochemical, methyl Salicylate is toxic in large doses.
