Peppermint is a cross between watermint and spearmint. Peppermint oil has been used historically for its medicinal properties. It is the most used of Essential oils, both medicinally and commercially. It is a hot oil and should be used only with a proper dilution for topical application.
Extraction:
Steam distillation of leaves and flowering tops. It is pale yellow or green color and has a fresh, minty aroma.
Main Constituent:
Has up to 50% alcohols(menthol, piperitol), 35% ketone, 10% esters(menthyl acetate)
