Quick Tips to De-Stress with Aromatherapy

Quick Tips to De-Stress with Aromatherapy
A Lovely Monday Morning to You All!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS. FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING

Do you know…….. Stress is a state of physical, mental, emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances or day to day life inconveniences. Unfortunately, we are living in a stressful time essentially caused by several phenomena that are inherent to today’s society, including work performance, competition, finance, natural disasters, pandemic, war.

Stress is a normal human reaction and in fact, the human body is designed to experience stress and react to it to help our body adjust to new situations. Stress can be positive, keeping us alert, motivated (e.g. during an important test) and ready to avoid danger during a perceived threat with its built-in stress response, the ‘fight-or-flight response’. While vastly different, each stressful situation, whether life-threatening or simple inconvenience, release adrenaline and cortisol into the bloodstream. Adrenaline increases blood pressure and boosts energy supplies, while cortisol releases glucose into the bloodstream, and even altering the immune system. Stress becomes a problem when stressors continue without relief or periods of relaxation, which can cause some serious health risks, including:

  • Exhaustion, Insomnia
  • High blood-pressure

                  Essential Oil Spray for Stress

  • Depression, Increased anxiety
  • Panic attacks, sadness
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Hostility and rage
  • Aggressive and impulsive behavior
  • Muscle tension, aches-pains
  • Overeating or under eating
  • Tobacco, drug, or alcohol dependence and abuse

Which is why we need to work towards managing our stress and decluttering our life. Take a step back, and assess what is stressing you out? Then develop and explore stress management strategies:

  • Positive thinking which strengthens our focus and inner resolve.
  • Learning how to use empowering, encouraging self-dialogue that releases serotonin,    dopamine and allows opening the needed inner resources to be successful.
  • Effective communication, the most important life-skill, that connects us with others and helps in developing relationship.
  • Spending time with friends and loved ones.
  • Taking time out for hobbies for reading, writing, painting, music, etc.
  • Healthy diet and eating habit.
  • Getting regular physical activity and practicing relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing, meditation, yoga, tai chi, or massage

There are medications (Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, and Ativan) to help deal with anxiety with side effects and safety concerns, such as the risk of addiction. Anti-anxiety medications are known tranquilizers that slows down the nervous system and creates a relaxing-calming effect. Use of Essential Oils through Aromatherapy is a safe effective holistic health care approach to alleviate stress. It can conjure memories both good and bad, excite us, soothe us, even promote good night sleep. Fragrance of an essential oil can directly affect our emotional state as our sense of smell is directly linked to the limbic system of brain that activates the hypothalamus. Hypothalamus is the hormone control center in brain that regulates the sex drive, energy levels, stress, and happiness. To reap the rewards of Aromatherapy, use Essential oils proactively with patience. Essential oils can be applied topically (diluted) over the wrists, feet, back of the neck or inhale directly or can be diffused, in combination with lifestyle modifications in diet and exercise. Aromatherapy and Body Clock for Sound Sleep

Aromatherapy and Body Clock for Sound Sleep
A Lovely Monday Morning to You All!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING

Do you know…………… Sleep is regulated by two body systems: sleep/wake homeostasis and the circadian biological clock. According to the National Institutes of Health, our body clocks regulate our body’s circadian rhythms; the patterns of physical, mental, and

                          Circadian Biological Clock

behavioral changes, including sleep patterns, regulated by body temperature, hormone secretion, and external factors like light and darkness. Our body’s master clock is in a part of the brain’s hypothalamus called the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), which receives light information from the retina in the eye and sends the information to the parts of the brain, and the gland that releases the sleep hormone, melatonin, which gets suppressed by light. Circadian rhythm causes the level of wakefulness to rise and dip throughout the day. Most people feel the strongest desire to sleep between 1:00pm and 3:00pm (the post-lunch, afternoon nap) and then again between 2:00am and 4:00am, that can vary from person to person.

There are five stages of sleep: stage 1, 2, 3, 4 (Non-REM), and 5 is REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, according to the American Sleep Association (ASA). Over the course of the night, the body will go through this five-stage cycle four to six times, spending an average of 90 minutes in each stage. Stage 1 is considered light sleep, and it is easy to wake someone. Our eye movements stop, and brain waves slow in stage 2. However, stages 3 and 4 are referred to as deep sleep. In REM sleep, the sleeper experiences dreams. Each stage of sleep serves a unique restorative function, including muscle recovery, hormone regulation, and memory consolidation.

According to Chinese medicine, it is not only how much sleep you get that matters, but also at what time do you sleep? In Chinese medicine, energy or qi, moves through the body’s meridians and organs in a 24hour cycle. Every two hours the qi (or energy) is strongest within a particular organ and its functions within the body. A bedtime of 10:30pm (at the latest) is advised so that you are asleep by 11pm when the Liver and Gallbladder start to regulate qi, process emotions, balance hormones and detoxify the body. From 11 PM – 3 AM, the Liver and Gallbladder is active which is most important for maintaining health, especially as we age. Any disharmony in our physical body, is tied to our emotional and mental state.

Aromatherapy is a good way to promote relaxation that can help get your body into a restful state ready for sleep. Aromatherapy is the science and art of using Essential oils to heal the mind, body, and soul. Essential oils are pure, natural, concentrated, volatile, aromatic, liquid extract from different parts of plants. Making specific essential oil (s) aroma a part of bedtime routine, can help train our mind with falling asleep. Not only do essential oils with a sedative property promote sleep, but they can also diminish anxiety, lower blood pressure, and relieve stress that builds up throughout the day. Many people prefer to use essential oils, because they are natural and do not create the common side effects of drowsiness and other health risks associated with many conventional sleep medications. Though, more research is still needed regarding essential oils and sleep, the studies done so far do suggest that using essential oils before bedtime can help alleviate mild to moderate sleep problems. Essential oils can be used in variety of ways; in a diffuser, or can be applied topically mixed in a cream or a carrier oil, or spritzed on, or in a room spray. Following Essential Oils could be used to alleviate insomnia due to stress, depression, headache, fatigue: Cedarwood, Clary sage, Frankincense, Geranium, Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Rose, Sandalwood, Sweet Orange, Valerian, Ylang ylang

Try following these simple steps for bedtime preparation to reset sleep cycle and help fall asleep:
* Set a consistent bedtime routine

* Keeping a set sleep schedule

* Avoid late meals, ideally 2-3 hrs. before bedtime

*Do not exercise close to bedtime, ideally 3-4 hrs. gap

*Schedule 30mts wind down period before sleep:

Dim the light
Read relaxing book
Listen to soothing music

*Avoid alcohol, nicotine, caffeine close to bedtime & early evening to prevent stimulating the body

*For chronic insomnia, consult your medical provider
Sleep Blend: 5ml

Mix 10 drops of Lavender essential Oil and 5 drops of Roman chamomile essential oil in a 5 ml euro glass bottle, top with 5ml sweet almond carrier oil, cap, mix, and label. Massage 6-8 drops onto feet and neck at bedtime.

Diffuser Blend:

Diffuse 3 to 4 drops each of Lavender, Cedarwood, and Orange Essential Oils in a diffuser at night during bedtime. Most diffusers have a timer or automatic shut-off, so you can let it run as you fall asleep without any worries.

Sweet dreams!

Essential Oils for Sinus Congestion

Essential Oils for Sinus Congestion
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know……..We have four pairs of hollow, air-filled cavities called sinuses, lined with soft, pink tissues called Mucosa. They are located over the eyes in the forehead called Frontal Sinuses, between the eyes called Ethmoid Sinuses, below the eyes behind the cheek bones called Maxillary Sinuses (is the largest), and near the center behind the nose called Sphenoid Sinuses. A thin wall, called the Septum, divides the nose. Most of the sinuses drain into the throat where it is swallowed or  into the nose through a small channel or drainage pathway (middle meatus). Experts still don’t know what is the exact function of these sinuses? One theory is that they help humidify and warm the air we breathe in, another is that they allow our voices to resonate and enhance our voices.

At one point or other, we all have suffered from Sinus infection or Sinusitis, which is not a pleasant experience. Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinus tissue lining within the passages of the nose that can be caused by infection, allergies, and chemical or particulate irritation of the sinuses. This results into inflammation mucus build-up, runny nose, post nasal drip, congestion, pain, cough, sinus headache, fever, and fatigue. Sinus conditions:

Acute Sinusitis (sinus infection): Viruses, bacteria, or fungi infect the sinus cavity, causing inflammation. Common symptoms are; more mucus; nasal congestion; discomfort in the cheeks, forehead, or around the eyes, and headaches. It lasts for a short time, defined by the American Academy of Otolaryngology as less than four weeks and is usually a part of a cold or other respiratory illness..

Chronic Sinusitis (chronic rhinosinusitis): Chronic sinusitis occurs when the spaces inside nose and head (sinuses) are swollen and inflamed for three months or longer, despite treatment. It is more than just a series of infections, chronic sinusitis is a persistent process, mucus normally drains making nose stuffy and breathing through nose may be difficult, area around your eyes might feel swollen or tender.

Deviated Septum: If the septum that divides the nose is too far to one side, it can obstruct airflow in a nostril.

Hay fever (allergic rhinitis): Allergens like pollen, dust mites, and pet dander cause sinuses to overreact that results into mucus, nasal stuffiness, sneezing, and itching.

Nasal Polyps: Are small growths in the nasal cavity. They can happen due to inflammation from asthma, chronic sinus infections, and nasal allergies (such as hay fever).

The majority of sinus infections are result of cold or virus or bacteria, and Antibiotic, Decongestants, Nasal Steroid Spray, or Sinus surgery are a very common conventional treatments. Instead of running to the store or the doctor for an answer to your sinus problems, first try to heal sinus infections with Aromatherapy using essential oils and other natural ways. Essential oils are natural, concentrated, volatile, liquid extracts of different parts of plants with individual therapeutic properties. Essential oils have been used for centuries as a natural way to support mental, emotional and physical health. Can try these natural alternative, holistic treatments:

Aromatherapy for Sinus   Infection

  • Drink lots of water to stay hydrated and avoid consuming dairy, alcohol.
  • Irrigate sinuses using a Neti-Pot with saline nasal water
  • Use a diffuser with water and essential oils (Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Clary sage, or Lavender essential oils in any combination)
  • Rub pressure points with a mix of essential oils(2drops each of Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and Peppermint Essential Oils in a carrier oil, like Almond or Grape seed Oil); side of each nostril, under the nose in the midline, on the temples, across the forehead.
  • Direct inhalation of essential oils; right from the bottle or add 2-3 drops of oils to a handkerchief, cotton ball, or inhaler tube, and breathe in as needed.
  • Steam Inhalation: is a very effective way to relieve stuffy nose. Boil 2-3 cups tap water and pour into a heat-proof bowl. Add 4-6 drops of essential oils (2 drops each of Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oils) and stir. Cover the back of your head with a towel, carefully lean over the bowl, and breathe in the steam through your nose and mouth as long as the steam is rising (for 2-4 minutes). Keep your eyes closed to prevent eye irritation. Repeat this once or twice a day for 2-3 days or as needed. (Instead of essential oils, can also use herbs: like 1 teaspoons of oregano and 1 teaspoons of basil).

Attracting Positivity in Life

Attracting Positivity in Life
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know……..Love is the highest frequency that human being can emit and is the greatest power known to the mankind. Many religions have flourished and perished claiming the true path to love.

                        Attracting Positivity

To find a perfect selfless eternal love, we have to seek love with the creator of the universe. In present world crises of Covid-19 and many other disturbances, we can create and spread the real feeling of love with positive thinking if we choose to, because the potential lies within us. Feeling is desire, desire is love, and love generates positive vibration. Harold W. Becker in his book, ‘Unconditional Love – An Unlimited Way of Being’, developed unconventional, contemporary definition for unconditional love, “Life through unconditional love, is a wondrous adventure that excites the very core of our being and lights our path with delight.”

Have you ever experienced that sometimes what you think or want to have, it happens suddenly and you wonder how incredible it is? Lately, every couple of months to retrain my thought process, I have been trying to listen to the audio of ‘The Secret’, by Rhonda Byrne, and every time I am intrigued with the law of attraction. She explains the law that governs our lives and how to create intentionally and effortlessly a joyful life. We put our thoughts into action through the law of attraction upon which the entire creation depends. Studies revealed that we process approximately sixty thousands thoughts per day which is driven by our feelings and our emotions. We know, like attracts like, so if we are unhappy about something; our health, or bad relation, or strenuous job, or circumstantial upheaval, etc. and think about it all the time, then it seems to get worst with every passing day. Instead of letting bad, negative thoughts ruin our lives, why don’t we spend our valuable time in attracting positive, happy thoughts to heal from chronic pain, to manifest happiness, to establish love, peace, and harmony. Therefore, it’s essential that we don’t let our critical inner voice slip into our thoughts without our knowledge and mess up our thinking patterns.

Aroma of Essential oils has the power to deviate us from our usual thought pattern and help dispel negativity. Essential Oils are natural, volatile, concentrated, liquid plant extracts with individual therapeutic properties and have been used since ancient times to cure different ailments. A sense of smell is one of the five senses and a powerful connector between people and the world around them. Suggested oils that are uplifting and help people feel happy include;

Yoga for Maintaining Body Balance

Yoga for Maintaining Body Balance
A Lovely  Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know……..Yoga is becoming a main stream activity. Yoga was first introduced to the Western world by Swami Vivekananda (was an Indian Hindu Monk, a chief disciple of the 19th-century Indian mystic Ramakrishna

      Yoga for Maintaining Body Balance

Paramahansa), more than a hundred years ago and is rapidly getting integrated into our public education, health care, and the workplace. Yoga is not a religion it is a spiritual and ascetic discipline, a philosophy which originated in ancient India about 5000 years ago. It helps improve the flow of energy (Prana) in body and.is an excellent energizing, relaxation technique that promotes physical and mental calm. Here are some practical benefits of Yoga that people may experience:

Increased flexibility and balance

Improved muscle strength and tone

Reduced joint pain, relaxation, and better sleep

Increased stamina and body awareness

Reduced stress, tension and apprehension

Alleviates Ability to heal physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually

Ability to increase self-worth through greater self-confidence

Capability to connect to others on a deeper, more spiritual level

Re-balance body’s entire organ function

Encourages forgiveness

One out of three elderly people of age 65 and over, is likely to fall in their lifetime. As we age, our muscle strength starts to diminish. Older people are prone to falling due to unsteadiness that increases the risk of falling and fracturing hips, legs, arms, and/or any other body part. If we lose our balance, quality of life changes due to fear of falling and anxiety starts to replace our confidence followed by many other health issues, like; high blood pressure, increase weight gain, aches-pains, stress, insomnia, etc.

To make body resilient, strong to walk, to get out of chair, increase muscle tone, to increase endurance, and calm the mind, regular practice of yoga and proper breathing technique is very important. Maintaining balance of our body is the key to our aging seniors as well as our younger generation too. We can use props, chairs or whatever helps to safely perform yoga. Yoga keeps us young and very beneficial for our overall healthy life. We can say that doing yoga on a regular basis is like long term investment for our longevity and a better physical, mental state.

Essential Oils together with Yoga facilitate healing benefits. Aromatherapy and yoga are both ancient healing practices focused on physical, mental, and spiritual health. Aromatherapy is the art and science of using Essential Oils which are natural, volatile, concentrated extract of different parts of plants. Essential Oils are incorporated to enhance the practice of Yoga for their emotional and physical benefits. Based on their therapeutic properties, Essential Oils can be used in a diffuser, or by mixing several drops with water in a spray bottle. Some of the popular Essential Oils used during Yoga are:

Lavender: decreases stress and anxiety, calming, anti-inflammatory, for sore muscles, anti-bacterial

Frankincense: grounding, balancing, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent,  boost cellular regeneration, strengthens the immune system, and stimulates the lymphatic system

Eucalyptus: anti-inflammatory, decongestant, disinfectant, antiseptic

Myrrh: for immune system, anti-infectious, antiviral

Peppermint: energizing

Lemon, Orange, Grapefruit, Tangerine: calming, cleansing, purifying

Energy Booster

Energy Booster
A Lovely  Monday Morning to you all!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know………Scientific fact is, energy flows from higher state to lower state. At present we are in the middle of global Covid-19 pandemic that has impacted everyone. With new cases of the novel Corona virus being reported daily around the world, we are scared of the uncertainties, the fear factor is very high and the collective consciousness of the world is very low. We react to situations according to our mental condition not dependent upon the situation.

Energy Booster E. Oil

We have to learn how to use, how to sense, how to pick up on vibrational energy to our advantage and to manifest our best life? Where attention goes energy flows, where energy flows things grow. If we look at our body as a garden, so to grow, to uplift our spirits, to improve our focus-concentration, we have to be at a very high state of mind to maintain the original seven natural qualities of the soul; love, peace, purity power, knowledge, love, happiness, and bliss.

As a clinical Aromatherapist, I like to utilize the therapeutic properties of Essential Oils to improve energy levels naturally. Essential oils are great natural holistic approach to feel revitalized and energetic, leading to greater productivity. Of course, if you notice your friends or family member going through a serious depressive state, then immediately seek medical attention. Essential Oils are the natural, volatile, concentrated extract distilled from different parts of the plants, used holistically to alleviate several physical and emotional ailments. When Essential Oil(s) inhaled directly or applied topically, they can influence areas of the brain that control feelings of tiredness and stress, thus leaving us feeling more awake, focused, and confident. Researchers have studied that essential oils may affect a number of biological factors; including heart rate, stress levels, blood pressure, breathing, immune function. and other causes of fatigue. Certain oils can actually provide an energy boost and a warming effect on the body caused by increased blood flow. Some of the following Essential Oils are used for boosting energy:

Citrus: Lemon, Orange, Grapefruit, Lime, Tangerine, Mandarin, Bergamot

Spicy: Black pepper, Cinnamon bark, Clove, Ginger

Bark: Frankincense

Minty: Peppermint, Wintergreen, Spearmint

Coniferous: White fir, Pine, Juniper berry, Spruce

Herbal: Rosemary, Sage, Tea tree, Thyme, Basil, Lemongrass

There are three ways we can use essential oils; direct inhalation, indirect inhalation, and topical application. For direct inhalation, simply add two drops of essential oil in your hand, rub them together, take 3-4 deep breath and you will,  instantaneously feel the response or can add essential oil to a cotton ball (or Kleenex) in a sandwich bag and inhale as required. For indirect inhalation, add few drops of essential oil(s) to a diffuser to help soothe, calm, uplift mood and energy levels in your surroundings. To apply topically, rub 1-2 drops of essential oil to your wrists, or below the feet or on the neck, or can dilute your desired essential oils with a carrier oil (Jojoba oil, Argan oil, Almond oil, Coconut oil) and use as a full body massage oil to balance nervous energy and promote positive energy.

Aromatic Reed Diffuser

Aromatic Reed Diffuser
A Lovely  Monday Morning to you all!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know…….Reed diffuser is an elegant way to aromatize any room without the use of heat or flame. Homemade Aromatherapy reed diffuser is very popular and is an excellent holiday gift that can be customized in many ways. So get creative and have fun.

With Corona pandemic and with new cases of the novel coronavirus being reported daily around the world, here is a simple DIY disinfecting reed diffuser recipe:

Disinfecting Aromatic Reed Diffuser

           Disinfecting Reed Diffuser

6 drops Bergamot Essential Oil

4 drops Lemon grass Essential Oil

4 drops Lavender Essential Oil

4 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil

¼ Cup Apricot or Jojoba Carrier Oil

2 Tbsp Alcohol

Rattan Reeds and a glass jar with narrow neck

Add ¼ cup of Apricot Seed or Jojoba Carrier oil (or can use Dipropylene glycol, but I don’t like using it) to a glass measuring cup, now add 2Tbsp of alcohol (Vodka or rubbing alcohol), and above essential oils (or add 15-20drops of  your desired Essential Oils). Stir the mixture well with a reed stick and pour it in a narrow neck glass bottle or jar. Add the rattan reeds to the bottle so that the ends are submerged fully in the oil (Rattan reeds can be cut to desired length if needed). The reeds soak up the scent and emit a pleasant aroma in any room or office space.Turn the reeds upside down once in couple of weeks to get the most aroma from the mixture. Once a month can top up with more essential oils, depending on how much mixture is left. Base note essential oils tend to last much longer than top notes.

FYI: According to WHO (World Health Organization), Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. This virus is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. Most people who get COVID-19 have mild or moderate symptoms, cough, fever, difficulty breathing, can recover if seek medical care early. The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is being well informed about the cause and the spread of the disease. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing hands or using an alcohol based rub frequently, Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze, don’t touch your face with dirty hands, and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people. The current statistics is, more than 491,000 people have died from COVID-19, while more than 9.6 million confirmed cases in at least 188 countries and territories and more than 4.8 million people have recovered to date.

Importance of Thoughts in Our Lives

Importance of Thoughts in Our Lives
A Lovely  Monday Morning to you all!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know…….We have heard many times that thoughts manifest and thoughts become the reality of life. The entire process of our living starts in our head based on our life time thoughts. Our thoughts whether positive or negative, not only affect us, but also the people around us. Once I read a quote of Mahatma Gandhi, “Our thoughts decide our actions and our actions define us.”

Importance of Thoughts in Our Lives

We generally yield to our feelings and make instant decisions. If we don’t have a healthy mind, and healthy thoughts, we can’t have a healthy physical body either. We have two types of mind; Conscious and Subconscious mind. We emit vibrations through our subconscious mind that produces positive or negative energy based on our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs, which defines our personality, our actions. You will notice, people walking around upbeat will rub off that Positive energy to whoever comes in contact with them and we all want to be around that person. While, Negative attitudes undermine our confidence, determination, willpower, and feeling sorry for ourselves, as well as pulling down everyone around us.

It’s a human psychology to find something or someone to blame for the atrocities in our lives. In certain cases, it is the truth then, it is our own fault to trust someone so much so, to let them manipulate and ruin our life. This ultimately can have a seriously detrimental effect on our general health and well-being. We just have to break loose our negative, destructive thought pattern of daily living and rewire the subconscious mind to evolve personal excellence. We will notice the positive impact on our physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

Researchers studied that it’s important to feed high energy words, thoughts in our body and mind before sleeping to slow down our mind. Instead of watching crime, detective, or scary shows, or negative news, or thinking of disputes, or failures before bed time, that would disturb our mental state and our sleep. This can lead into a vicious cycle of negative thinking that holds us back and hurts us in our lives. We all know the phrase, “Garbage in-garbage out.” Therefore, it’s essential that we don’t let our critical inner voice slip into our thoughts without our knowledge and mess up our thinking patterns.

To attain happiness and get rid of negative thoughts, we can follow these guidelines:

  • Give gratitude to the Almighty, to our family, to our care takers, to our nature, and to our health.
  • Think only what we want to be with positive affirmations.
  • Staying Grounded: by regularly practicing meditation, yoga, mindfulness, and exercising, will help with our hormonal balance, which in turn will keep our stress and anxiety in check.
  • Avoid negativity and toxic, deceitful people, who can’t be the support we require.
  • Indulge in creative activities that gives pleasure, but haven’t had time for it before. We deserve it.
  • Walk in nature to get connected with our surroundings and the beautiful Mother Nature.
  • Be compassionate to others and spread kindness, we will receive the same with blessings in return.
  • Spend quality times with our loved ones.
  • Consume healthy diet filled with positivity and high energy, because we are what we eat.
  • Finally, smell the aroma of favorite Essential oil that has the power to deviate us from our usual thought pattern and help dispel negativity.

Essential Oils are natural, volatile, concentrated, liquid plant extracts with individual therapeutic properties and have been used since ancient times to cure different ailments. A sense of smell is one of the five senses and a powerful connector between people and the world around them. Suggested oils that are uplifting and help the majority of people feel happy include; Citrus scents: Bergamot, Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, and Tangerine, Minty scents: Peppermint, Spearmint and Pennyroyal.

Neroli (helps with anxiety and panic), Roman and German Chamomiles, Helichrysum (helps with the feelings of frustration, bitterness and anger), Spikenard, Lavender and Rose (help with overall feelings of no self-worth). Avoid Holiday Stress with Aromatherapy

A Lovely Christmas-Eve Morning to you all!

Do you know………….. We’re a society of chronic stress, an awful fact, that many of us don’t realize, but everyone likes to have some peace, quiet, and the inner serenity. Especially around Holidays, we get stressed for many reasons like; the stress of planning, stress of gift exchange, stress of having family-friends over or visiting them, financial stress, and the stress of keeping up with the fast-pace schedule amidst job-family responsibilities. Though, Christmas is no doubt the best time of the year.

While vastly different, each stressful situation, whether life-threatening or simple inconvenience, or dealing with day to day life or constantly under attack by outside forces (especially, our own loved ones), triggers a fight or flight response, releasing adrenaline and cortisol into the bloodstream. Adrenaline increases blood pressure and boosts energy supplies, while cortisol releases glucose into the bloodstream, and even altering the immune system which can cause some serious health risks, including:

Insomnia

High blood-pressure

Depression, Increased anxiety

Hormonal imbalances

Hostility and rage

Aggressive and impulsive behavior

This is why we need to work towards de-cluttering our life. Take a step back, and assess what is stressing you out? To avoid the holiday stress, plan things ahead of time including the regular weekly schedule, try to incorporate 20-60 minutes of daily exercise routine, make sure to have 8 hours of quality sleep per night, and spend time with family-friends-loved ones to comfort the heart and soul. Essential oils are probably best known for their calming and relaxing properties to maintain physical and mental health. Essential Oils can be applied topically with proper dilution on wrist, neck, temple or can be used in diffuser. Some of the pure, natural, classic holiday aroma of Essential Oils such as Cinnamon, Clove, Pine, Orange, Tangerine, Peppermint, Myrrh, Nutmeg, Ginger, Lavender, Frankincense, Sandalwood, Spruce, Patchouli, can help weather seasonal stress.

Holiday Aromatic Diffuser Blend

30 drops Sweet Orange

10 drops Cinnamon bark

10 drops Clove

5 drops Geranium or Ylang ylang

5 drops Pine

Blend oils in a 5 ml dark glass euro bottle, close, mix, label, and add 8-10 drops to diffuser or in a candle warmer as desired.
