Fondness of LOVE

Fondness of LOVE
A Lovely Memorial Day Monday Morning to you all!

LET US JOIN TO REMEMBER AND HONOR OUR HEROES FOR THEIR ULTIMATE SACRIFICE!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know…….. LOVE has been a favoured topic of philosophers, poets, writers, and scientists for generations. Generally, when we talk or hear the word love, we always think of romance, passion, attraction, infatuation, and sensuality from the outer sense, but it goes far beyond that. In Internal Power-Seven Doorways to Self Discovery, by Harold W. Becker, it’s mentioned, that falling in love with ourselves, forgiving, and accepting ourselves for all our beliefs, mistakes, and recognizing our self-worth, is the foremost form of love.

             Fondness of LOVE

If we don’t learn first to love ourselves, then we can’t extend our love to others. Love and fear are two profound emotions that we experience as humans. Love transcends everything, so celebrate love with everyone, even with inert objects and our beautiful mother nature for her limitless endurance for our constant abuse. From the scientific point of view, love is a powerful and permanent neurological condition, which can’t be controlled.

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”   Buddha

Love is a force of nature and it’s not easy to define. Love feel is endless. It can be for your spouse, for your parents, for your children, for your siblings, for your neighbours, for your friends, for your lover, for your pets, for your community, for your country, for God and so on so forth. Love doesn’t need to be perfect, only needs to be true. Love can’t be restrained, manipulated, punished, rewarded, envied, it is inherently compassionate, humble, patient, forgiving, selfless, unconditional, perseveres, respectful, nurturing, and can only be felt. Though, often the person you feel the closest to your heart, shatters your dreams, your divine feelings to pieces beyond a repair. That’s the time, you have to show your resilience and bounce back with a new vigour.

Shakespeare in A Midsummer Night’s Dream:

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind.”

Rest to Revitalize

Rest to Revitalize
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know………..Our mind and body function interdependently as a whole. It is important to realize the role of rest in our life. We can’t achieve physical wellness, if other parts of our life is stressed and under unrest mode. Generally, our overall attitude is to try to minimize rest as much as possible to

Rest to Revitalize

accomplish more, thinking we are being more productive and efficient, without realizing we are damaging our physical, mental, and spiritual health causing more challenges. We are so much attached to our worldly affairs that we forget to find the true meaning of life in our surroundings, in the serenity of our mother nature, and always feel ‘Short of Time’. It is so ironic, that in this so called modern age, we are constantly making inventions to save time for every activity, but in every conversation, we hear repeatedly, ‘I don’t have time to spare or not even to die’.

“If you relax your mind, it can begin working for you.” – Bryant McGill

We should have a set of daily routine to stay organized and function efficiently, but be flexible and adaptable. If one day things don’t get done as per schedule, it should not be the matter of stress and it won’t be the end of the world. We just have to break lose our negative destructive pattern of daily living and rewire our subconscious mind to restructure our personal excellence. We do have to set realistic goals to avoid stress, anxiety, and feeling of failure. We should not consider ourselves, ‘Do it all Individual’, that’s when we end up falling flat on our face frustrated and stressed out. So, it’s always a good practice to seek help from others when desired and be willing to help others in need.

Generally, when we are talking about rest, we think only about sleep, but rest is more than just

sleep. Yes, sleep is very crucial for the normal function of our body, but rest includes self-care, relaxation, entertainment, enjoying a hobby, doing restful activities, and power down our minds for a while, (Please refer to my blog of May 12, 2018, Self-care with Essential Oils). In Ayurveda and TCM, it’s believed that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. A quality rest helps to restore our inner peace, our Qi flows and our spirit is content, which makes our entire internal environment balanced and in harmony.

Aromatherapy using Essential Oils is good way to support the body’s own healing system, thus assist the natural abilities of our body to rest and recover from stress and illness. Essential Oils are natural, volatile, concentrated, liquid plant extracts with different therapeutic properties and have been used since ancient times to cure different ailments and to promote well-being of mind, body, and spirit. The most common use of essential oils is through topical application (aromatherapy massage) due to their small molecular size which easily gets absorbed by the skin and through inhalation or smelling essential oils that directly affects the limbic system of the brain. Following essential oils could be used for self-healing due to their relaxing, emotional well- being, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, to improve circulation, properties; Lavender, Peppermint, Tea tree, Eucalyptus, Roman Chamomile, Rosemary, Frankincense, Citrus oils, Geranium, Rose, Sandalwood, Cypress, Neroli

Corona Virus in Laymen Term

Do you know…..In the wake of recent global development and the fatal impact of Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic, my friend, an eminent scientist, and a noted scholar, Dr. A. Vaishampayan, of the prestigious university of India, Banaras Hindu University, wrote this article for the understanding of laymen about the necessity to protect humans from the fatal Corona Virus and the necessity of social distancing. With his permission, I am sharing this valuable piece of information with you:

Friends, regularly asking me as to why Corona Virus is fatal to human beings only, may please note that phylogenetic analysis classifies it into FOUR types, i.e., (1) α (Alpha), (2) β (Beta), (3) γ (Gamma), and (4) δ (Delta), of which the serological tests have shown a matching GENETIC binding site of α & β in mammals, while γ & δ in birds. Accordingly, Covid-β is relatively Novel (reasonably more powerful than Type-α) that has a greater matching RECEPTIVE GENE site in human beings (while Covid-α might have infected a Tigress in New York, that’s a matter of further research). Matching site means something like a Lectin (from host) and Ricadhesin (from microbe) to be recognized for effective beneficial or injurious infection in plants. This is as true as we often feel crazy to match the colour of our red dress with matching sandals and accessories, and we don’t mind moving to one and/or the other shop(s) till we find the exact matching, suitable one. That’s why we have to confine ourselves in-house, such that this poisonous virus has no opportunity to search out whether we serologically match as its exact target or not, since if it matches, it will start destroying the human cells & respiratory system fast (belonging to any religion, race or geographical location), no sooner it completes its first 14 days of lag phase (as depicted below). But no worry, as the brilliant human mind of scientific community is busy producing an antidote that will vasectomize the matching/ recognizing/ victimizing genetic site of Covid-19 to be disrespectfully bounced back from a human surface.

It won’t be out of place to mention that poisonous (Venomous) Snakes are Visible from Naked Eyes, hence we can change our route to protect ourselves, as & when these are seen once a while, and even if something unfortunate happens, an instant effort of doctors can save our life with the help of Established Antivenin Medicines available.

Unfortunately, in sharp contrast, the Corona Virus is Microscopic and NOT at all visible from Naked Eyes, yet diffused in the environment as a parasite in human beings it infects, the symptoms of which may NOT be apparent before two weeks. Since any scientifically proven Preventive or Curative Medicine, Antigen or Vaccine is NOT at all available so far, we have the only option to PROTECT OURSELVES BY PROMISING CONFINEMENT TO THE HOUSE (IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH EXPERTS’ RECOMMENDATIONS) TO KEEP US AWAY FROM THE IMPETUOUSLY CONTAGIOUS CORONA VIRUS that FATALLY chokes the Human Respiratory System.

We have to show our obligation to each and every individual from the medical, administration, police, other emergency services, and the unique magnanimous government at the top (appreciated round the globe) whose selfless, untiring & systematic efforts around the clock, has been very wisely, promptly & voluntarily confronting Corona Virus pandemic. Let us fight it out through the commensurate scientific & science-based medical/administrative advice by faithfully maintaining social distance and vehemently locking us down in our house, till the Virus fails to find out a new host or till the scientists come out with the appropriate drug (Interferon bio-synthesizing capacity in a human being) to change the VIRAL GENE ACTION (illustrated above).

Until confirmed preventives or curatives are available, in order to maintain our respiratory & esophageal clearance:

Can frequently drink hot or warm water: boiled with clove, crushed black pepper, and grated ginger, strained, mixed with lemon (optional).

Direct inhalation of essential oils: Right from the bottle or add 2-3 drops of essential oils (Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and/or Lavender) to a handkerchief, cotton ball, or inhaler tube, and breathe in as needed.

Steam Inhalation: is an effective way to relieve stuffy nose and sinus infection. Boil 2-3 cups tap water and pour into a heat-proof bowl. Add 4-6 drops of essential oils (2 drops each of Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oils) and stir. Cover back of your head with a towel, carefully lean over the bowl without getting burn, and breathe in the steam through your nose and mouth as long as the steam is rising (for 2-4 minutes). Keep your eyes closed to prevent eye irritation. Repeat this 2-3 times a week for couple of weeks or as needed. (Instead of essential oils, can also use herbs: like 1 teaspoon of Oregano and 1 teaspoon of Basil or Holy Basil-Tulsi).

MOST IMPORTANTLY, MAINTAIN HAND HYGINE AND SOCIAL DISTANCING!

Epsom Salt

Do you know……..Epsom Salt, that we use so lavishly as a natural remedy for number of ailments,

      Aromatherapy Epsom Bath Salt

to name a few; Muscle Cramps, Sprains, Fatigue, Skin problems, Athlete’s Foot, Toenail Fungus, Toxin Elimination, or General Aches, is not a salt. It’s a naturally occurring pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate. Epsom Salt, takes its name from a bitter saline spring in Epsom in Surrey, England, where the salt was produced from the springs.

Epsom salt helps to alleviate stress as stress drains the body of magnesium and increases levels of adrenaline. When we take bath of Epsom Salt, salt is absorbed through the skin and replenishes the level of magnesium in the body which helps to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of calmness and relaxation.

Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulfate) also helps in gardening with seeds germination, makes plants grow bushier, produce more flowers, increases chlorophyll production.  Can add 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt to a gallon of water and sprinkle on lawn to keep the grass healthy and green.

Quick and easy nourishing Aromatherapy Bath Salt: make for yourself or gift it to family-friends

2 cups Epsom Salt

½ cup Baking Soda

2 Tbsp  Dried Lavender Flower (or can use Lavender Essential Oil)

6 drops Geranium Essential Oil

6 drops Orange Essential Oil

In a large bowl place Epsom salt and baking soda, mix well with a whisk, add essential oils stirring well. To color (optional) the salts, use just a few drops of food coloring. and stir well, store in a covered glass jar, leaving half inch space at the top, label. After running a warm bath, pour  ½ to 1 cup into bath and stir with your hand. Enjoy the relaxing, nourishing bath.

Aromatherapy and Bursitis Pain

Do you know……… The difference between Bursitis vs. Arthritis?  According to the American College of

                Aromatherapy for Bursitis Pain

Rheumatology,  Bursitis, similar to tendonitis are usually the result of minor injuries or repetitive overuse of the soft tissue around muscles and bones, whereas arthritis is a degenerative joint disease that is sometimes caused by an autoimmune disorder.

Bursitis is inflammation of fluid filled sacs called bursae. Bursae, are found throughout the entire body, present near the joints. The bursae are lined with cells that form the synovial membrane and secrete the synovial fluid. They cushion and lubricate the space between bones and connective tissues (joints, tendons and ligaments), and muscles to ensure smooth movement of joints. When inflamed, movement becomes difficult and even muscles become stiff.

Bursitis is generally caused by repetitive movement and excessive pressure at a particular joint. It commonly occurs in heel, knee, shoulder, elbows, hip, and foot too. Symptoms of Bursitis:

Pain in the affected region

Swelling, redness

Warm to the touch

Stiffness

Prominent pain while moving makes movement difficult

More pain during the early morning and night

Treatment for bursitis involves:

Rest the Affected Area and avoid aggravating exercises or activities

Use Ice to Control Swelling

Stretching and move the Area

Essential oils, with their powerful anti-inflammatory, analgesic, restorative therapeutic properties can have profound effect to control bursitis pain. Following Essential Oils can be applied diluted to the affected area in circular motion to boost circulation, reduce inflammation, and pain:

Peppermint

Turmeric

Frankincense

Winter Green

Lemon grass

Marjoram

Helichrysum

Basil

Ginger

With proper care, bursitis pain usually goes away within several weeks without the need for medications or surgery. According to a 2011, article in the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, most bursitis patients respond well to nonsurgical management, including ice, activity modification, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Bursitis Pain Essential Oil Blend: 1oz

Aromatherapy Phototoxicity

Do you know……… Photosensitization is the process in which ultraviolet (UV) radiation combines with a particular substance and causes chemical or biological changes.

      Essential Oil Toxicity

Since centuries, Essential Oils have been widely used for bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal, antiparasitical, insecticidal, medicinal and cosmetic applications. Nowadays, more so in pharmaceutical, cleaning, cosmetic, agricultural and food industries. Because of the mode of extraction, mostly by distillation and cold pressed from aromatic plants, Essential Oils contain a variety of volatile molecules such as terpenes and terpenoids, phenol-derived aromatic components. Furocoumarins (most common ones are bergapten and oxypeucedanin), a special class of constituent that react when exposed to ultraviolet light and can cause photosensitization of the skin with inflammation, blistering, reddening or burning symptoms after topical application of a photosensitive essential oil. Therefore, when using a photosensitive essential oil topically, avoid sunlight for up to 12 hours after use, including tanning beds. For detailed safety information, please refer to Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young, Essential Oil Safety – Second Edition, 2014.

Some of the Essential Oils that may cause Phototoxic or Photosensitive Reactions:

Angelica Root

Bergamot

Bitter Orange

Cumin

Grapefruit

Lemon

Lime

Rue

Pampering Feet with Aromatherapy

Do you know…….. Our hands and feet are biomechanical marvels of God’s creation. Just like our hands, our foot has complex anatomy (which is beyond the scope of this article) with 26 bones, 33 joints and several muscles, tendon and ligaments holding it together. Our feet has thousands of nerve endings

         Pampering Feet with Aromatherapy

(A nerve is a bundle of fibers that receives and sends messages between the body and the brain through neurons), which makes foot massage feel so incredible. Mayo Clinic reports that studies sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and the National Institutes of Health found that reflexology could “reduce pain and psychological symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and enhance relaxation and sleep,” due to the fact that every one of our nerve linings end in our footing.

Our feet is the most neglected part of our body, while they deserve lot of pampering and tender loving care (TLC). Our feet carry our weight, light or heavy, day in day out without any complains or vacation except for the night time when most of us are in bed sleeping. We cram it into tight socks, gym shoes, pinching high heels, or standing around, or walking to class-work-to the car, or running to catch a train-bus, or exercising, etc. Energetically the feet represent our connection with earth, the sense of being grounded, and rooting us to Mother Nature. That’s why walking bare feet on fine sand or soft grass gives  euphoric experience.

Aromatherapy using Eessential oils are quick and easy way to treat our feet and provide TLC, so they can keep up with every step of our busy life. Essential Oils are natural, volatile, concentrated extracts, taken from the roots, leaves, seeds, bark, or blossoms of plants. It should be diluted for a safe topical application following all safety rules and an expert advice. Following essential oils could be used to pamper feet:

Lemon, Peppermint, Tea Tree, Cypress, Lavender, Bergamot, Ginger, Geranium

The Mineral Salt foot scrub to Revitalize Tired Feet

To exfoliate the feet, pour 2 quarts of warm to hot water into a foot bowl, add ¼ cup Epsom salt, add 3 drops Peppermint, 3 drops Tea tree, 3 drops Lemon Essential Oils (or your favourite essential oil), soak your feet for about 15-20 minutes while keep inhaling the aroma. Rub feet with a pumice stone sloughing off dead skin cells which will improve the circulation in feet, dab feet dry, massage with coconut oil for a smooth feel, fresh feel.
