                          Aroma Acupressure

traditional Chinese medicine practice of acupuncture. With acupressure, pressure is applied on specific places throughout our body (mainly our hands, feet, facial region), called acupressure points. Pressing these points can help release muscle tension, pain, headache, stress, irritation, anger, and promote blood circulation. Acupressure, carry messages from nerve endings through our central nervous system to release chemicals accordingly that gives us relief from pain and other discomforts. Acupressure can be performed by using our fingers, or palms, or elbows, or specific tools to apply pressure to different acupressure points, which stimulates these points to mobilize energetic stagnation, increase blood circulation, and improve our physical, mental, emotional well-being. Acupressure can be learnt, which is out of the scope of this article, to be self-administered for variety of health conditions.

Researchers have studied that combining Aromatherapy together with acupressure, exerts synergistic effect for the healing technique. Aromatherapy is the art and science of using Essential Oils (natural, volatile, concentrated plant liquid extract) to promote physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Few examples; our sleep quality and quantity gets affected due to several underlying conditions for which can use; Lavender, Roman Chamomile essential oil at the acupressure point while performing acupressure. Also, if someone suffering from anxiety, stress, can apply these oils to the related acupressure points. Similarly, to relieve fatigue and exhaustion, can use Lavender, Rosemary essential oil simultaneously with acupressure therapy.

Aromatic Reed Diffuser

Do you know…….Reed Diffuser is an elegant way to aromatize any room with light, subtle aroma. Homemade Aromatherapy reed diffuser is also an easy and cost effective excellent holiday gift or a birthday gift, or a house warming gift, or a gift for any other occasion. It can be customized according to season, occasion, personal scent preference. So get creative and have fun.

              Aromatic Reed Diffuser

Peaceful Aromatic Diffuser Blend

8 drops Bergamot Essential Oil

6 drops Frankincense Essential Oil

6 drops Palmarosa Essential Oil

4 drops Geranium Essential Oil

¼ cup Carrier Oil or Distilled Water

2 Tbsp Alcohol (Vodka or Rubbing Alcohol)

Method

Add 1/4 cup of lighter carrier oil (Apricot Seed or Safflower or Sweet Almond) or distilled water (or can use Dipropylene glycol, but I don’t like using it) to a glass measuring cup, add above essential oils (or your desired Essential Oils), add 2Tbsp of alcohol, stir the mixture well with a reed stick and pour it in a narrow neck glass bottle or jar.

Add the rattan reeds to the bottle so that the ends are submerged fully in the oil. Rattan reeds can be cut to desired length if needed. Turn the reeds upside down every few days or at least once a week to get the most aroma from the mixture.

Once a month can top up with more essential oils, depending how well they last – base essential oils tend to last much longer than top notes.

If the liquid mixture starts to look or smell unpleasant, dump it out, wash the jar, and make a new batch.
