Vibrational Healing with Aromatherapy

Vibrational Healing with Aromatherapy
A Lovely  Monday Morning to you all!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know…….. Long before modern technology and science, ancient cultures knew that all living things carried a subtle bio-energy with them, called Life force, Prana, or Chi. Now we know that the entire universe is made of  energy that is constantly vibrating (vibrational energy) and is expressed as an electromagnetic vibrational frequency.

Albert Einstein said it best when he said, “Everything is Energy.”

                         Vibrational Healing

Let’s first understand what is Energy in a simple sense? In general terms, energy is tiny particles of matter, called atoms, that consists of protons, neutrons, electrons, and a nucleus at the center. When group of atoms are moved, a vibration occurs. There are also light vibrations and color vibrations. A subtle vibration is different in that it is most frequent and is perceived by feelings or emotions, rather than physically heard or seen, e.g.; our thoughts, food that we consume, songs that we listen, all form a subtle vibration. We pick up on the vibrational energy when we meet people and vice-versa. We all have experienced that sometimes when we walk into an empty room or a room full of people and immediately get a good or bad vibe or when we meet someone, we get this gut feeling even before they open their mouth to speak.

We have to learn how to use, how to sense, how to pick up on vibrational energy to our advantage and to manifest our best life? We know, similar energies attract one another, e.g.; positive people hang out together, and complainers, haters, negative people attract people with the same energy patterns. We as humans have the power to be mindful and to choose as to who are we surrounding ourselves with, do we have high-vibrating thoughts of love, peace, happiness, laughter, gratitude, sharing, and compassion, then we will be attracting similar energies to our benefit.

Aromatherapy promotes health of body, peacefulness of mind, getting rid of the negative emotions, by working in conjunction with the olfactory system, helps a person get in touch with their true selves. Since the human body is really energy it makes sense to use energy based products, like Essential oils that are in alignment with us so as to support our body and mind based on vibration healing method. Vibrational Healing or Vibrational Medicine is a way of bringing all things back to balance and to its natural vibration state by using, Vibration of  the natural energies of  the environment, e.g.; Aromatherapy, Sound therapy, Acupuncture, Crystals, and EFT (Emotional freedom technique or tapping).

“Clinical research shows that essential oils have the highest frequency of any natural substance known to man, creating an environment in which disease, bacteria, virus, fungus, etc., cannot live. I believe that the chemistry and frequencies of essential oils have the ability to help man maintain the optimal frequency to the extent that disease cannot exist.” Gary Young of Young Living Essential Oils

According to one of the most beneficial researchers of vibrational frequency, Bruce Tainio, a healthy human body has a frequency of 62-72 MHz, it drops to 57-60 MHz if have a cold or flu, cancer may appear at 42 MHz and the death process begins at 25 MHz, Negative thoughts -12, Positive thoughts +10, Praying +15, Smoking -23.

Similarly, processed food such as a hamburger or canned food is said to have close to zero vibration, while some living greens may have a frequency of 70 MHz.

“Essential oils all emit a spectrum of frequencies that come from the bonds between elements comprising the molecules of their compounds. Each molecule is like a tiny stringed instrument where the bonds between the atoms of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen act as strings of different pitches, just as a guitar or a harp has several strings of different pitches each with harmonics and overtones of their own.” Dr David Stewart

According to researchers in Washington using Tainio Technology,  the vibrational frequency

                       Vibrational Healing

of pure essential oils are the highest of any measured natural substance. Thus, it stands to reason that through the inhalation and topical application of pure essential oils, we can raise the vibratory quality of an individual and may reverse the disease process. Rose essential oil vibrates at a rate of 320 MHz. The highest measured frequency of any essential oil, Rose emanates love, purity, and wholeness, connecting mind, body, and spirit. It is not surprising that there is no greater power in the Universe than love. The feeling of love is the highest frequency  any person is able to emit.

For example, here are the average frequencies of some of the therapeutic grade essential oils that have been measured:

Fondness of LOVE

Fondness of LOVE
A Lovely Memorial Day Monday Morning to you all!

LET US JOIN TO REMEMBER AND HONOR OUR HEROES FOR THEIR ULTIMATE SACRIFICE!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know…….. LOVE has been a favoured topic of philosophers, poets, writers, and scientists for generations. Generally, when we talk or hear the word love, we always think of romance, passion, attraction, infatuation, and sensuality from the outer sense, but it goes far beyond that. In Internal Power-Seven Doorways to Self Discovery, by Harold W. Becker, it’s mentioned, that falling in love with ourselves, forgiving, and accepting ourselves for all our beliefs, mistakes, and recognizing our self-worth, is the foremost form of love.

             Fondness of LOVE

If we don’t learn first to love ourselves, then we can’t extend our love to others. Love and fear are two profound emotions that we experience as humans. Love transcends everything, so celebrate love with everyone, even with inert objects and our beautiful mother nature for her limitless endurance for our constant abuse. From the scientific point of view, love is a powerful and permanent neurological condition, which can’t be controlled.

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”   Buddha

Love is a force of nature and it’s not easy to define. Love feel is endless. It can be for your spouse, for your parents, for your children, for your siblings, for your neighbours, for your friends, for your lover, for your pets, for your community, for your country, for God and so on so forth. Love doesn’t need to be perfect, only needs to be true. Love can’t be restrained, manipulated, punished, rewarded, envied, it is inherently compassionate, humble, patient, forgiving, selfless, unconditional, perseveres, respectful, nurturing, and can only be felt. Though, often the person you feel the closest to your heart, shatters your dreams, your divine feelings to pieces beyond a repair. That’s the time, you have to show your resilience and bounce back with a new vigour.

Shakespeare in A Midsummer Night’s Dream:

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind.”

Rest to Revitalize

Rest to Revitalize
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know………..Our mind and body function interdependently as a whole. It is important to realize the role of rest in our life. We can’t achieve physical wellness, if other parts of our life is stressed and under unrest mode. Generally, our overall attitude is to try to minimize rest as much as possible to

Rest to Revitalize

accomplish more, thinking we are being more productive and efficient, without realizing we are damaging our physical, mental, and spiritual health causing more challenges. We are so much attached to our worldly affairs that we forget to find the true meaning of life in our surroundings, in the serenity of our mother nature, and always feel ‘Short of Time’. It is so ironic, that in this so called modern age, we are constantly making inventions to save time for every activity, but in every conversation, we hear repeatedly, ‘I don’t have time to spare or not even to die’.

“If you relax your mind, it can begin working for you.” – Bryant McGill

We should have a set of daily routine to stay organized and function efficiently, but be flexible and adaptable. If one day things don’t get done as per schedule, it should not be the matter of stress and it won’t be the end of the world. We just have to break lose our negative destructive pattern of daily living and rewire our subconscious mind to restructure our personal excellence. We do have to set realistic goals to avoid stress, anxiety, and feeling of failure. We should not consider ourselves, ‘Do it all Individual’, that’s when we end up falling flat on our face frustrated and stressed out. So, it’s always a good practice to seek help from others when desired and be willing to help others in need.

Generally, when we are talking about rest, we think only about sleep, but rest is more than just

sleep. Yes, sleep is very crucial for the normal function of our body, but rest includes self-care, relaxation, entertainment, enjoying a hobby, doing restful activities, and power down our minds for a while, (Please refer to my blog of May 12, 2018, Self-care with Essential Oils). In Ayurveda and TCM, it’s believed that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. A quality rest helps to restore our inner peace, our Qi flows and our spirit is content, which makes our entire internal environment balanced and in harmony.

Aromatherapy using Essential Oils is good way to support the body’s own healing system, thus assist the natural abilities of our body to rest and recover from stress and illness. Essential Oils are natural, volatile, concentrated, liquid plant extracts with different therapeutic properties and have been used since ancient times to cure different ailments and to promote well-being of mind, body, and spirit. The most common use of essential oils is through topical application (aromatherapy massage) due to their small molecular size which easily gets absorbed by the skin and through inhalation or smelling essential oils that directly affects the limbic system of the brain. Following essential oils could be used for self-healing due to their relaxing, emotional well- being, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, to improve circulation, properties; Lavender, Peppermint, Tea tree, Eucalyptus, Roman Chamomile, Rosemary, Frankincense, Citrus oils, Geranium, Rose, Sandalwood, Cypress, Neroli

Coping with Current Situation

Coping with Current Situation
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know……..times are hard, stressful, confusing, following the global outbreak of Corona virus, and we are still adapting to the new normal. We face changes constantly in our lives, only we have to learn how to cope with it effectively without damaging our physical, mental, and spiritual health.

We know from constant exposure to news broadcasting, digital media, and the newspaper, many countries went into lockdown, placing restrictions on the movement of people and barring international visitors, to impede the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 (the virus causing COVID-19) virus and prevent community transmission. Unfortunately, even with strict lock downs and social distancing measures, countries across the world are struggling to contain the spread of the novel Corona virus. It has already resulted in Confirmed 4.1M (+61,554), Recovered 1.4M, and Deaths 282K (+8,499), across the globe in the absence of treatments, vaccines, or the diagnostics, and continues to increase by the day. Initially, the virus was thought to spread only when we came in contact with the infected person, but the recent scientific research/studies have revealed the spread even by the silent asymptomatic carriers. This Corona pandemic is not only affecting our health, but has brought the global economy to an unprecedented halt.  Unemployment is at the rise and some experts are comparing the current crisis with the Great Depression of the 1930s.

We have to try to keep abreast with the ever changing situation and have to keep thinking, improvising the best case scenario to ride out of this storm. It’s not easy to feel normal in times of uncertainty and avoid being stressed. Here, we should not forget about the emotional state of our young and little ones. We have to be mindful towards them and help them to manage difficult emotions and inspire kindness toward others. This social distancing and isolation could cause tension, anxiety, physical abuse, and long term mental health condition. Researchers and nutritional psychiatry suggest, that with the intervention of balanced nutritional diet, mental wellness could be improved.

It’s amazing that the entire world is facing the same crisis, not only a few of us, so to bring happiness in crisis, we all have to:

  • Emit positive vibrations of love, compassion, gratitude, blessings, cooperation for the entire human kind, not the vibrations of fear and anxiety. It will change our feelings and would be beneficial to all of us. We all have heard, thoughts become our reality and effects our health, our family, our community, our state, our country, and pretty soon becomes the global vibration and in turn would heal the planet.
  • Give gratitude to the Almighty for giving us yet another new day in our lives. Let us show our gratitude towards our family and the people who are instrumental (Researchers, Scientists, Doctors, Para-Medical staffs, Police force, and the Administration) in keeping us safe.
  • Not be dependent on the situation and let it spoil our happiness.
  • Give our gratitude for the food, water we are having. Let us continue cooking and eating home cooked meal which is a healthy life style habit, filled with high energy, and definitely filled with love and compassion.
  • Be thankful to the Digital technology for providing the tools for efficient remote instructions, working, learning-teaching environment, exercising, entertainment, during this corona virus pandemic.

Per WHO (World Health Organization) website, Corona is known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) and SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). The most recently discovered Corona virus causes Corona virus disease COVID-19. So, practicing hand and respiratory hygiene is important at all times and is the best way to protect others and yourself. Besides social distancing, there are ways to take care of our health in naturalistic, holistic manner:

Drink lots of water (possibly lukewarm, with lemon and honey) to stay hydrated, avoid alcoholic beverages

Irrigate sinuses using a Neti-Pot with saline nasal water

Direct inhalation of Essential oils: Essential oils have been used for centuries as a natural way to support emotional and physical health due to their individual therapeutic properties. Can inhale the aromatic molecules right from the bottle of sinus relieving essential oils (Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Lavender, Tea tree), or add 2-3 drops of oils to a handkerchief, cotton ball, or inhaler tube, and breathe in as needed.

Steam Inhalation: is a very effective way to relieve stuffy nose and could help with upper respiratory tract infection. Boil 2-3 cups tap water and pour into a heat-proof bowl. Add 4-6 drops of essential oils (2 drops each of Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oils) and stir slowly. Cover the back of your head with a towel, carefully lean over the bowl, and breathe in the steam through your nose and mouth as long as the steam is rising (for 2-4 minutes). Keep your eyes closed to prevent eye irritation. Repeat this once every other day for 10-15 days or as needed. (Instead of essential oils, can also use herbs: like 1 teaspoons of oregano and 1 teaspoons of basil).

Importance of Food

Importance of Food
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGINE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know………. Food is much more than providing nutrition to our body. Food is a part of our upbringing. Food is a part of our culture. Food is what we are. Food is how we interact and negotiate with

              Healthy Food Pyramid

others, many important issues are being resolved during business luncheon and dinner meetings, in all the celebrations (any type of festival, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and even in funerals), food remains the main focus. All over the world from a village to modern cities, sharing food and feeding guests, is a sense of sharing friendship and showing gratitude.

Food is a basic necessity for the energy that our body requires to adequately perform the daily metabolic, hormonal, mental, physical, chemical functions. At the same time, our habit of eating unhealthy food is the culprit and intricately associated with some of the chronic diseases; cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and low immunity. It’s pretty difficult to change our eating   habits that is ingrained within us from our childhood, though it could be accomplished with practice and effort. It’s shocking that obesity rate among children (as well as in adults too) is growing all over the world and one of the key factor, the increasing trend of Junk Food, that contains sugar, salt, fats, together with bad food habits. In addition, with the increasing onset of food delivery apps, etc., people now like having junk food more as it’s easier than cooking your own meal and is some what tastier too.

Now, what is good food and what is bad food (Please consult a trained licensed food nutritionist for your diet evaluation)? It’s very easy to get overwhelmed with all types of advertised diets (Paleo diet, Mediterranean diet, Atkins diet, Low GI diet, Japanese diet, etc., etc.) and be confused in finding the adequate one for your body type. It could become restrictive as to the portion size, quality, caloric intake, etc. The terms ‘food’ and ‘nutrition’ are sometimes used synonymously, which is not right. There are mainly two categories (I am not categorizing into; dairy, poultry, fish, fruits, grains, etc.)of food:

Vegetarian food: these include all plant based food; fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy products; milk, butter, yogurt, cheese.

Non-Vegetarian food: these include all meat and meat products; chicken, turkey, fish, squid lamb, goat, pig, cow, etc.

Food is a composite mixture of five basic ingredients and water that we consume every day to stay healthy, active and productive.

Protein

Carbohydrate

Fat

Vitamins

Minerals and

Water

Protein: builds, maintains and repairs the body’s muscle, blood, skin, hair, bones and other tissues, organs in the body. Eg: Meat, eggs, dairy and fish, nuts, seeds (Pumpkin, Sunflower).

Carbohydrate: is main source of energy to the body. Carbohydrates can be classified into two kinds; starches and sugars. The common starch rich food include rice, maize, wheat and potatoes while food rich in sugars include fruits, honey, sugar, sweets, candies, chocolate bars, and sweet drinks.

Fat: this is also known as the body’s secondary source of energy. Fats are stored in the human body for energy and excess fat is more difficult to burn. It helps people survive through cold weather and contains more calories per gram than any other nutrient. Food rich in fats are oils, ghee, butter, lard, milk, cheese and some meat.

Vitamins and Minerals: sometimes called micronutrients, as only tiny amounts is needed by human body, but an essential organic compound required for good health. Good sources of vitamins are fruits, vegetables, cereals, milk and eggs. Minerals are needed for the maintenance of proper functions in the body like the transport of oxygen throughout the body, stimulating growth, normalizing the nervous system, build bones (Calcium), Blood (Iron) etc. Minerals can be found from a variety of food items such as, meat, cereals, bread, fish, milk and dairy products.

Water: It is popularly known as the”elixir of life”. The human body comprises of 55-78 % of water. It is required for the essential functioning of the various important parts of the human body.

We should try to change our attitude and thought process towards eating healthy. We should consume more plant based food, portion control, give priority and respect to our food i.e. take out time to properly sit and eat, give our gratitude to the Almighty to be graced with food. Besides, healthy food, which contains all the necessary ingredients, does not only impact our immunity, our physical health, but mental health also and reduce the chances of diseases. It keeps us away from the long-term illnesses that could create stress, anxiety, insomnia, and even relationship problems. In addition, healthy food helps us to save money. It is much cheaper to prepare our own desired dishes from our own purchased ingredients than ordering junk food from outside. Plus the love and care that goes into the preparation of healthy food with our own hands, is incomparable.

With the global Corona virus pandemic, I can’t end the article without mentioning about our immunity. We have to strengthen our immune system (Lymphatic System), that transport lymphatic fluid, containing infection-fighting white blood cells (Lymphocytes, which produce antibodies to kill the foreign bodies, microorganisms and stop infections from spreading) throughout the body. The tonsils, adenoids, spleen, and thymus are all part of the lymphatic system. To help the flow of lymphatic fluid all over the body, we have to keep moving using those Suksham Kriyas (micro exercises), that I mentioned in my last week’s (Mon., Apr. 27, 2020) blog and eat mindfully, healthy food to boost our immunity.

Few Suggestions for Building Healthy Habits:

In the morning, after waking up, can drink a full glass of lukewarm water with 1 teaspoon honey,  1/2 lemon, or a glass of fresh vegetable juice.

For Breakfast, can have a banana or a cup of seasonal fresh fruits, some soaked almonds or any raw nuts-seeds, 1 cup low fat milk or black tea or herbal tea, 1-2 eggs, 2 slices of whole grain bread with a little butter, sprouts (Wheat, Mung beans, Alfalfa seeds and Soya beans, Red, Black or Bhite Chickpeas  make excellent sprouts)

Suksham Kriya Yog to The Rescue

Do you know……..Our life has changed in last 40-50 days due to Covid-19 outbreak. These are not easy times, but we should pat ourselves on the back for how gracefully we have adapted and what we all are doing to our

scientifically, medically, and administratively emphasized recommendations; maintaining social distancing, staying at home, caring for our family-our loved ones, and ourselves, working from home, cooking delicious meals, having Zoom birthday parties. Simultaneously, undoubtedly we are feeling a little isolated, missing on personal socializing with our friends, colleagues, watching movies in theaters, and eating out at restaurants.

At this trying times, we should introduce Suksham Kriya Yog or Yoga (Micro Yoga exercises) pra

ctice in our daily routines. Suksham is a Sanskrit word meaning “subtle” or “dormant.” The presence of sukshma is felt, but not seen. It helps improve the flow of energy (Prana) in body and.is an excellent energizing, relaxation technique that promotes physical and mental calm. As the definition implies, Sukshm yoga is simple, short, subtle, that exercises the internal organs and increases their functioning efficiency. People of every age can practice these Kriya anywhere; sitting at home, or while travelling,

or at work, without creating any distractions to your surroundings and be done within 15-30 minutes. When practiced routinely, these are some of the benefits of Suksham Kriya yoga:

Muscle strengthening, develop flexibility and mobility

Improve coordination

Mood elevation, calmness and relaxation

Better immunity and endurance

Better digestion

Suksham Kriya consists of:

Asanas: are traditional yoga poses, performed in a sequence for flexibility , strength, endurance, and coordination.

Pranayam: is sequence of breathing exercises to improve our circulatory system and metabolic processes in the body.

Bandh: is energy locks to slow down aging process and wastage of vital energy.

Mudras: are mostly done with fingers in different combinations to benefit our health and emotional state. (Please read my Apr. 6, 2020, blog, ‘Significance of Mudras’ on aromawellness.net)

Can do these kriyas on the floor sitting erect in sukhasana, or in a chair or standing straight. While performing these subtle kriyas, concentrate your mind on whichever part of the body the process is done and be aware of your breath. Keep affirming to yourself, “I am happy, I am healthy, I am peaceful, I am love, I am a pure soul,” or whatever affirmation you want to create. Here I’ll list few of the Suksham Kriyas as it’s beyond the scope of this article to go into details of various Suksham Kriyas and the entire process:

  • Eyebrows pinching between thumb and index finger, 5-6 times
  • With eyes open, raise eyebrows to form folds/wrinkles on the forehead for 5 seconds. Come to the normal position, close eyes, repeat 5-6 times, helps reduce tension
  • Roll eyes slowly clockwise and anticlockwise, 3-5 times, helps improve eye sight
  • Squeeze eyes tight and open, 5-10 times, helps to relax eyes
  • Hold ears, move clockwise then anticlockwise, 5-10 times, Pull ear lobes down and hold for 10-15 seconds, helps improve hearing
  • Open mouth wide and close, 10 times, jaws strenthening
  • Slowly move head Right and Left, 3-5 times. Then touch ears to shoulder on both sides, 3-5 times, then touch chin to chest and bend head back, 3-5 times, helps with neck strengthening
  • Stretch out arms parallel to the floor, open and clench fists with thumb tucked in 5 times and released 5 times
  • Bring arms parallel to the floor, move arms backwards to the shoulder with bending at the elbow and extend forward straight, 5-10 times
  • With both hands raised in a fist or namaskar posture, bend to the right, come to the center, and bend to the left, repeat 10-15 times, for the back and waist
  • Sit straight, hold the right knee with left hand, place right hand on the floor and look back as much as possible, repeat same holding the left knee with right hand, 10-15 times. Good for back and waist.

Generally after practicing all the desired kriyas, do palming (rub palms together), cover your eyes for 15-30 seconds, open your eyes in the palm. Stretch legs in the front, gently massage them. Relax for 20-30 minutes and have a glass of water or green tea or make the following tea:

Relaxing Tea

2 tsp dried Holy Basil (Tulsi)

1 tsp dried Chamomile

1 tsp Fennel seeds

1/4 tsp dried Lavender

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, stir to mix evenly, and store in a glass (mason) jar with tight lid, label.

In a medium pot or tea kettle boil water, turn off the heat. Add I tsp prepared tea mix for each cup of tea. Cover and let it steep for 5-10 minutes. Strain, add honey, or desired sweetner and lemon (optional).  Serve, sip, and enjoy.

Grounding Relaxing Spray

2 oz. distilled water

15 drops lavender Essential Oil

10 drops grapefruit Essential Oil

5 drops geranium Essential Oil

1tsp alcohol(vodka)

Add oils to a glass spray bottle, close, label, mix and spray in the room before your Yoga or use as desired. Mix well before each use.

Body the Healing Machine

Do you know……..We all were constantly complaining that life is very challenging. No one had time to spare for their family, and especially on themselves. Now, with the global outbreak of Corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic, our life has temporarily changed. I can’t comment if it’s for good or bad, but our daily lifestyles have been impacted. Nature has provided us with the opportunity to heal our over active, heavily worked up body, mind, spirit with our inbuilt self-healing trait and establish harmony with our environment. This is the time to

                  Body the Healing Machine

explore our hidden potentials of cooking, sewing, painting, art-craft, writing, etc., to name a few. Grand Master Lu (Lu Sheng-Yen, born 27 June 1945, is the founder and spiritual leader of the True Buddha School with teachings from Buddhism and Taoism) reminds us that every event provides opportunities to learn and that health is a dynamic part of life. “Life is magic. Health is dynamic. It is true we need a strong immune system, but it is not the whole truth. We also need to see what the immune system represents?  Simply put, it is the result of your body, mind, and Spirit working as one.”

Our body is not made to experience misery, disease, or sickness. Our cells continually look for health, balance and harmony with our surroundings. We have microcosm of macrcosm within us i.e.  human beings, are viewed as an epitome or miniature of the universe. Whatever exists in the nature exists within us to help us self- heal. When we break that natural law and stop vibrating at the same frequency, then we start attracting negative energies and victimize our body to different diseases.

Unlike in the Western traditions, Ayurveda (Ayu=long life and veda=knowledge, which means in Sanskrit, ‘knowledge of life’, originated in India more than 5,000 years ago from the ancient Vedic culture and is often called the “Mother of All Healing”), places great emphasis on individual body’s physical constitution, emotional nature, spiritual outlook, and balance of natural rhythms and cycles. Similarly, TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine, teaches how to live a life of balance, wellness, and harmony. it’s rooted in unchanging natural law, which has its source beyond time). TCM believes that at birth we are born with the ability, Qi or energy to heal ourselves in a smooth, efficient, and productive way.

Modern quantum science as well as the Ayurveda and TCM, say that everything is made up of energy. We can use the vibrational frequency of nature and our internal frequency to heal and balance our bodies and emotions. According to Ayurveda and TCM, universe is composed of 5 Elements: Ether, Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and they include our internal organs. Ayurveda believes, these five elements combine to make three Doshas, that controls all the function of our mind and body:

Vata(Air and Ether) –Fall and Early Winter, Later life

Pitta(Water and Fire) –Summer, Adolesent to Middle age

Kapha(Water and Earth) –Late winter and Early Spring, Birth to Puberty

This Five Element Framework offers a diagnostic framework to recognize where imbalances in our body, mind, emotions, and spirit lie. Just as everyone has a unique fingerprint, each person has a particular pattern of energy, an individual combination of physical, mental and emotional characteristics which identifies them.

We become what we think about. If we are not feeling good, then we don’t like ourselves. We carry our thoughts not only in our mind, rather in our entire body. It’s good to have some stress, but stress beyond our tolerance could create all kinds of problem in our day to day life. When stressful events happen, distress signals to brain, that alerts endocrine system which starts producing cortisol and adrenaline or epinephrine, stress hormones. As a result, our immunity goes down. We all have ability of resiliency to bounce back from stressful events, adversities and if not, this skill can be learnt with compassionate support through self-awareness and self-care. Most of us are unaware of our full potential, hidden skills, that we can acquire by self-programming through:

  • Self- hypnosis (Visualizing body is healing itself, becoming whole and functional)
  • Self introspect
  • How to be your ideal self
  • Guided imagery
  • Relaxation, Yoga,
  • Meditation to calm mind and connect to innate wisdom.
  • Give thanks and feel gratitude in the body
  • Appropriate Sleep
  • Good healthy diet to nourish the digestive system and boost the immune system
  • Find a healthy environment and get out of a toxic environment
  • Find healthy relationship, open the door to experience peace, love, and healing you deserve
  • Letting go of worries, fears and heaviness that weigh us down and make room for the new space to grow, to learn, to enjoy.

Inner peace is what natural healing looks like. When we’re at peace, our Qi flows and our spirit is content, that makes our entire internal environment balanced and in harmony. Ultimately, we feel healthy inside-out. In Ayurveda and TCM, they don’t treat the individual disease, but treat the person as a whole. It’s based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. Its main goal is to promote good health, not fight disease.

Aromatherapy using Essential Oils is good way to support the body’s own healing system. Essential Oils are natural, volatile, concentrated, liquid plant extracts with different therapeutic properties and have been used since ancient times to cure different ailments. Essential oils have a very small molecular size and are easily absorbed by the skin. Following essential oils could be used for self-healing; Lavender, Peppermint, Tea tree, Eucalyptus, Roman Chamomile, Rosemary, Frankincense, Citrus oils, Geranium, Rose, Sandalwood

Grounding-Relaxing Spray:

2 oz. distilled water

15 drops lavender Essential Oil

10 drops grapefruit Essential Oil

5 drops geranium Essential Oil

1 tsp alcohol (vodka)

Add oils to a glass spray bottle, close, label, mix and spray in the room or on linen, use as desired. Mix well before each use.

Refreshing Ginger-Mint Tea

6-8 Fresh Mint Leaves (provides cooling effect in throat) or 1 Peppermint tea bag

4 Slices of fresh Ginger (warms and supports stomach functions) or 2 Ginger tea bags

In a pan, bring 4 cups of water to boil with fresh ginger slices, simmer for 5 minutes, turn off the flame, add peppermint leaves, cover  and let steep for 5 minutes, strain, drink hot or warm throughout the day. Can add honey (nourish and moisturize lungs and lemon (optional).

For an emergency health condition seeking an immediate medical intervention by conventional medicine is the best choice.

Corona Virus in Laymen Term

Do you know…..In the wake of recent global development and the fatal impact of Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic, my friend, an eminent scientist, and a noted scholar, Dr. A. Vaishampayan, of the prestigious university of India, Banaras Hindu University, wrote this article for the understanding of laymen about the necessity to protect humans from the fatal Corona Virus and the necessity of social distancing. With his permission, I am sharing this valuable piece of information with you:

Friends, regularly asking me as to why Corona Virus is fatal to human beings only, may please note that phylogenetic analysis classifies it into FOUR types, i.e., (1) α (Alpha), (2) β (Beta), (3) γ (Gamma), and (4) δ (Delta), of which the serological tests have shown a matching GENETIC binding site of α & β in mammals, while γ & δ in birds. Accordingly, Covid-β is relatively Novel (reasonably more powerful than Type-α) that has a greater matching RECEPTIVE GENE site in human beings (while Covid-α might have infected a Tigress in New York, that’s a matter of further research). Matching site means something like a Lectin (from host) and Ricadhesin (from microbe) to be recognized for effective beneficial or injurious infection in plants. This is as true as we often feel crazy to match the colour of our red dress with matching sandals and accessories, and we don’t mind moving to one and/or the other shop(s) till we find the exact matching, suitable one. That’s why we have to confine ourselves in-house, such that this poisonous virus has no opportunity to search out whether we serologically match as its exact target or not, since if it matches, it will start destroying the human cells & respiratory system fast (belonging to any religion, race or geographical location), no sooner it completes its first 14 days of lag phase (as depicted below). But no worry, as the brilliant human mind of scientific community is busy producing an antidote that will vasectomize the matching/ recognizing/ victimizing genetic site of Covid-19 to be disrespectfully bounced back from a human surface.

It won’t be out of place to mention that poisonous (Venomous) Snakes are Visible from Naked Eyes, hence we can change our route to protect ourselves, as & when these are seen once a while, and even if something unfortunate happens, an instant effort of doctors can save our life with the help of Established Antivenin Medicines available.

Unfortunately, in sharp contrast, the Corona Virus is Microscopic and NOT at all visible from Naked Eyes, yet diffused in the environment as a parasite in human beings it infects, the symptoms of which may NOT be apparent before two weeks. Since any scientifically proven Preventive or Curative Medicine, Antigen or Vaccine is NOT at all available so far, we have the only option to PROTECT OURSELVES BY PROMISING CONFINEMENT TO THE HOUSE (IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH EXPERTS’ RECOMMENDATIONS) TO KEEP US AWAY FROM THE IMPETUOUSLY CONTAGIOUS CORONA VIRUS that FATALLY chokes the Human Respiratory System.

We have to show our obligation to each and every individual from the medical, administration, police, other emergency services, and the unique magnanimous government at the top (appreciated round the globe) whose selfless, untiring & systematic efforts around the clock, has been very wisely, promptly & voluntarily confronting Corona Virus pandemic. Let us fight it out through the commensurate scientific & science-based medical/administrative advice by faithfully maintaining social distance and vehemently locking us down in our house, till the Virus fails to find out a new host or till the scientists come out with the appropriate drug (Interferon bio-synthesizing capacity in a human being) to change the VIRAL GENE ACTION (illustrated above).

Until confirmed preventives or curatives are available, in order to maintain our respiratory & esophageal clearance:

Can frequently drink hot or warm water: boiled with clove, crushed black pepper, and grated ginger, strained, mixed with lemon (optional).

Direct inhalation of essential oils: Right from the bottle or add 2-3 drops of essential oils (Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and/or Lavender) to a handkerchief, cotton ball, or inhaler tube, and breathe in as needed.

Steam Inhalation: is an effective way to relieve stuffy nose and sinus infection. Boil 2-3 cups tap water and pour into a heat-proof bowl. Add 4-6 drops of essential oils (2 drops each of Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oils) and stir. Cover back of your head with a towel, carefully lean over the bowl without getting burn, and breathe in the steam through your nose and mouth as long as the steam is rising (for 2-4 minutes). Keep your eyes closed to prevent eye irritation. Repeat this 2-3 times a week for couple of weeks or as needed. (Instead of essential oils, can also use herbs: like 1 teaspoon of Oregano and 1 teaspoon of Basil or Holy Basil-Tulsi).

MOST IMPORTANTLY, MAINTAIN HAND HYGINE AND SOCIAL DISTANCING!

Significance of Mudras

STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGINE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know….. A Mudra, in Sanskrit means “seal”, “mark”, or “gesture”; is a symbolic or ritual gesture, pose in Indian religions and culture. Most mudras are performed with the hands and fingers, often in combination with movements of the wrists, elbows, and shoulders, while some involve the entire body. Mudras have been used for thousands of years to assist in meditation, healing, in the ceremonies, dances, sculptures, and painting iconography (i.e. representations of Buddha). In modern world, we most commonly associate mudras with hand positions in yoga and meditation.

            Significance of Mudras

Mudras are used to change the mood, perception and attitude of a person. In Yoga, mudras are practiced in conjunction with pranayama (yogic breathing exercises), generally while seated in Padmasana (Lotus Pose), or Sukhasana (Easy Pose), or Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose), or even by sitting comfortably upright on a chair, to stimulate different parts of the body and mind, to increase awareness and mindfulness, to affect the flow of prana in the subtle body, and unblock chakras. Each mudra has its effect at three levels; body, mind, and soul. They provide us with the courage to handle difficult situations in our lives with ease.

Here I’ll talk about the five elements and mudras associated with those five elements. According to ancient scriptures and Ayurveda, there are five elements that are the basis of all cosmic creation; Fire (Agni), Air (Vayu), Space (Aakasha), Earth (Prithivi), and Water (Varun, Jal). These five elements are integral part of every human being and we all exhibit different balance of these elements. Interestingly, each of our fingers of both hands, represent one of the five elements, which is associated with a different chakra (wheel of energy) in the body:

Thumb – Fire (Agni) – Manipur (Solar Plexus) Chakra

Index finger – Air (Vayu) – Anahat (Heart) Chakra

Middle Finger – Ether (Space or Aakash) – Vishuddhi (Throat) Chakra

Ring Finger – Earth (Prithivi) – Muladhar (Root) Chakra

Small Finger – Water (Varun or Jal) – Swadhisthan (Sacral) Chakra

Regular 10-20 minutes per day practice of an appropriate yoga mudra, can balance these elements for our physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. Of the many types of hand mudras, some are as follows:

  1. Prithivi (Earth) Mudra: touch the tip of your ring finger with the tip of thumb while the other fingers are kept straight. It is connected with Muladhar chakra.

Accordingly, this mudra strengthens the element earth within us. It helps in grounding energy and connecting with the earth. As a result, will feel safe, stable and secure in difficult times.

  1. Varun (Water or Jal) Mudra: touch the tip of your little finger (water) and the tip of thumb together, while the other fingers remain extended.Varun is the Sanskrit word for water and is connected with Sacral chakra.

Practicing this mudra helps with lack of water element in the body, which often results in dehydration, dryness of skin, hair, eyes, mouth, muscle cramps, skin issues like eczema, psoriasis, or digestive problems, constipation.

  1. Surya (Sun, Fire,Agni) Mudra: fold your ring finger down and place thumb on top of the ring finger, giving it a light pressure, keep the other fingers straight. It is connected to Solar Plexus chakra.

This is the mudra of fire, heat and sun. One of the best mudras for weight loss. It stands for prana or life force energy in our organs, that can be activated by this mudra to improve digestion, boost metabolism, help lose weight, improve vision, keep cholesterol in control, and energize the body.

  1. Vayu (Air) Mudra: Fold your index finger and place thumb on the back of index finger and keep other fingers straight. It is connected to Heart chakra.

By increasing the air element inside, this helps in pain relief from joint pains, rheumatism, gout, arthritis, helps in digestion, with gas and bloating, better blood circulation, helps with asthma, relaxation, remove guilt feeling. Vayu mudra is associated with Vata dosha, so beneficial for vata type people.

  1. Aakash (Ether, Space) Mudra: Bring the tips of your middle finger and thumb together creating a circle, while keeping the three fingers straight. It is connected to Throat chakra.

Aakash mudra creates a healing space within our body. It activates our throat chakra which stands for self-expression, communication and speaking out truth, controls overeating, calcium and phosphorus absorption from diet, helps detox our body, releases tension, negativity, and gives a feeling of completeness.

I would like to mention here Gyan mudra: which is one of the most recognized of the mudras. Touch the tips of thumb and index finger with palms facing upward.

This mudra is believed to reduce stress, relax the mind, calming, and spiritually awakening. It stimulates the air element in the body, which ultimately leads to an increase in the memory power, nervous system, level of concentration and pituitary gland production.

Alpha State of Meditation

Do you know…….We have four types of brain waves; Alpha, Beta, Theta, and Delta. When we are relaxed, our brain activity slows down to 7-14 HZ, which is said to be in Alpha State of Mind, the ideal mental state. This is what scientists associate with our Right Brain, that is responsible for our imagination, memory, creativity, intuition, awareness, and being fully in the moment. Alpha state boosts creativity, resilience, and concentration. That’s what athletes and other performers work on to achieve success, called ‘being in the zone’. We can get into an alpha state of mind, by practicing meditation or guided meditation, deep breathing, pranayam, auto hypnosis by affirmation and visualization, by running and aerobic exercises, or listening to soothing music. Now a days, there are several apps available. To attain Alpha state with relaxation, follow a set regimen and gradually turn into a habitual practice:

Choose a specific time

           Alpha State of Meditation

Choose a specific place

Get comfortable

Avoid distractions

Do deep breathing and alternative breathing through nose

Use guided meditation technique

Count backward from 10 to 1, several times

Declutter your mind

Visualize a happy moment

Visualize a peaceful destination

On the other hand, Beta state of Mind is characterized with brain wave activity between 14-30 HZ. We spend most of our lives in the beta state, as we rush through the hustle – bustle of everyday life, busy checking off our to-do list, and trying to be productive. This rapid mental activity in beta mode has been linked to depression and anxiety, because often we are unable to get out of a negative pattern of thinking. Theta brainwaves occur between 4 – 7 Hz and Delta brainwaves occur below 3.5 Hz.

Studies have revealed, perhaps Aromatherapy, the art and science of using Essential Oils and drinking black, green, or white tea (leaves, naturally contain a substance called Theanine, which is an amino-acid and promotes relaxation without drowsiness), generates alpha brain waves in short time, that moves you into a state of relaxed alertness. Though, more research needs to be done.

Essential Oils are natural, volatile, aromatic, liquid plant extracts with different therapeutic properties. It has been used since ancient times for mental, spiritual and physical healing and to cure different ailments. Our most primitive sense is smell. It directly affects the limbic system of our brain, that controls are hormonal production, emotional state. Inhaling the scent of certain oils can help to ground and stabilize the energies from our emotional body. Essential oil can be inhaled directly from the bottle or place a single drop in palm, rub hands together, cup around nose, and begin breathing deeply for a calming effect, or apply a drop on wrists and neck, or apply to the bottom of the feet, or diffuse, or can wear like perfume. Researchers have found that inhaling Lavender and Sandalwood essential oils increases alpha-wave activity (relaxation), while inhaling Jasmine oil increases beta-wave activity (alertness, anxiety). Brain wave patterns can be affected by the beliefs and thoughts about the stimulus too.

Currently, when the entire world is facing the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic, we need to be in Alpha state of mind. We have to be aware, not be scared. Every thought is affecting our feelings of fear which is creating more vulnerability and anxiety. We got to think right, because together with hand cleaning, we have to keep our mind clean, to circulate positive vibrations in the universe for the benefit of humanity at large.
