Quick Glance at Pranic Healing

Quick Glance at Pranic Healing
A Lovely Monday Morning to You All!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING

Do you know…….. Pranic healing originated in India. It was mentioned in ancient Indian texts that sages and yogis practiced Pranic healing with body’s innate ability to heal itself to treat illnesses. Pranic Healing utilizes “Life force,” “Energy,” or “Prana”. Prana is the Sanskrit word means “Life-force” that sustains us physically, emotionally, and mentally. It has many names from ancient wisdom traditions: “Prana” is the energy that is moved in Yoga, the “Mana” used by Kahunas for healing, the Chinese refer as “Chi” that is manipulated in acupuncture and generated in Tai Chi, and it is the “Ki” used to defend oneself in martial arts Aikido in Japan, it is the “Ruah” or “Manna” mentioned in the bible and what the Greek philosophers called “Pneuma”. This invisible bio-energy or vital energy keeps the body alive and maintains good health. Now, it is practiced by hundreds across the world.

“Miracles are fantastic events, which utilized hidden laws of nature. Most people are unaware of these laws. Miracles do not break the laws of nature, they are actually based on them.”  Grand Master Choa Kok Sui.

Pranic healing is a simple, yet powerful and effective “no-touch” energy healing modality based on the fundamental principle that the body is a self-repairing entity, developed by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, modern founder of Pranic Healing®. He developed Pranic Healing over 20 years period using experimentation and evidence-based research which has shown to have immediate positive results contributing to better health and wellbeing. The healing process is accelerated by increasing the life force or vital energy to the affected part of the body. Pranic energy comes from three different sources: the sun, the earth, and the air. We can also get Pranic energy from plants, water, and food. Pranic healing is applied on the bio-electromagnetic field (the aura, or energy body) surrounding the physical body. Researchers hope the next decade will bring significant increases in research efforts to study the impact of biofield therapies in promoting health. Pranic healing can be used to help in the healing of:

Pain Management

During my travel this last winter, I was introduced to Master Stephen Co’s (studied and trained under Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, the founder of Pranic Healing, for over 20 years and was given the opportunity to share these teachings in the United States. He is the co-author of “The Power of Prana” & “Your Hands Can Heal You” and has been sharing these teachings worldwide since 1988) several You Tube Pranic Healing sessions as well as live zoom sessions. As a clinical Aromatherapist and a Reiki healer, I got inspired with this energy healing modality. Since then, I have been constantly working on to increase my knowledge of Pranic Healing technique and looking forward to soon incorporate into my practice.

Aromatherapy for Vertigo

Aromatherapy for Vertigo
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING

Do you know………A sudden sensation of spinning (either of oneself or of external objects, surroundings) is one of the major signs of vertigo. I could personally vouch for this and certainly it is not a pleasant experience. Causes of vertigo:

                         Essential Oils

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV): This is the most common cause of vertigo. Symptoms of BPPV are triggered by rapid change in head movement such as; tipping head up or down, or by lying down, or turning over, or sitting up in bed.

Infection: A viral infection of the vestibular nerve, called Vestibular Neuritis or Labyrinthitis can cause intense, constant vertigo.

Meniere’s disease: When excessive fluid builds up in the inner ear.

Migraine

Some of the common signs and symptoms of Vertigo are:

Dizziness

Lightheadedness

Unsteadiness (Loss of balance)

Blurred vision

Nausea and vomiting

Ringing in the ear (tinnitus)

Headache

Treatment: Medications are available that can relieve some symptoms. These drugs include antihistamines and anti-emetics to reduce motion sickness and nausea. There are a few exercises involve holding a certain position that can ease the discomfort of vertigo. These exercises are similar to the ones used in vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT). However, it has been found that certain specific essential oils can provide relief from the symptoms of vertigo:

Peppermint

Ginger

Lemon balm

Lavender

Thyme

Basil

Clary Sage

Frankincense

Rose

These oils are used commonly for the treatment of headaches, motion sickness, nausea and/or vertigo. They help stimulate blood and oxygen flow to the brain, opens up the breathing passage helping to decrease lightheadedness.

How to use essential oils for common vertigo:

To apply, gently massage the forehead and back of neck with two to three drops of the oil of your choice or inhale or oil can be diffused into the air from an aromatherapy diffuser..

If you experience dizziness along with a new extreme headache, high fever, loss of vision, leg or arm weakness, fainting, chest pain or difficulty speaking please seek medical attention immediately.

Essential Oils for Acid Reflux

Essential Oils for Acid Reflux
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING

Do you know…….Acid Reflux is a common condition that features a burning pain in the lower chest area, known as heartburn also known as acid indigestion or pyrosis. It happens when stomach acid flows back up into the food pipe. At the bottom of the esophagus, there is a sphincter (a valve) which is a ring of muscle called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). It acts like doorway to allow food in the stomach and closes to keep the stomach contents out of the esophagus. If the LES doesn’t close all the way or if it opens too often, stomach acid move up into esophagus. This can cause symptoms such as a burning chest discomfort called heartburn. Despite the name, heartburn has nothing to do w

ith the heart. If acid reflux symptoms happen more than twice a week, it is known as gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD). GERD is most common in Western countries, affecting an estimated 20-30 percent of the population. The American College of Gastroenterology says that over 60 million. Americans experience heartburn at least once a month, and at least 15 million as often as daily.

Acid Reflux

If have frequent or severe symptoms of heartburn, doctor may order tests to confirm a diagnosis and check for other problems. For people who experience heartburn or indigestion infrequently due to occasional food and drink, OTC (over the counter) treatments to reduce the acidity of the stomach contents are available. Antacids, such as Alka-Seltzer, Maalox, Mylanta, Rolaids, etc. can neutralize the stomach, but overuse of them may cause diarrhea or constipation, or decreased nutrient absorption, or overgrowth of bad bacteria. Antacids provide rapid but short-term relief by reducing the acidity of the stomach contents. They may not work for everyone and any need for regular use should be discussed with your medical provider. In many cases, lifestyle changes combined with over-the-counter medications are all we need to control the symptoms of acid reflux disease. Study shows that it’s best to use antacids that contain both magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide which may help counteract these gastrointestinal side effects.

                           Acid Reflux Discomfort

There’s always a time and place for conventional medicine for acute situations and emergencies, but these days it’s often used as a first resort for everyday issues, not the last resort. Essential oil is a safe, natural effective remedy to reduce acid reflux, bloating, and pain. Essential oils are natural, concentrated, volatile, liquid extract from different parts of plants and have been used for therapeutic and healing purposes for centuries. These oils are:

Fennel Essential Oil: seed oil has been shown to reduce intestinal spasms and increase motility of the small intestine.

Lemon Essential Oil:  helps in the temporary excretion of digestive acids, which alleviates heartburn. It is great for cleansing the stomach and detoxifying.

Wild Orange Essential Oil: is a great oil for acid reflux,  can also help with detoxifying, constipation, and bloating.

Longevity Secrets

Longevity Secrets
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING

Do you know……… What began as a National Geographic expedition, lead by Dan Buettner, to uncover the secrets of longevity, evolved into the discovery of the 5 places around the world where people consistently live over 100 years old. These are: Okinawa (Japan), Sardinia (Italy), Nicoya (Costa Rica), Icaria (Greece), and Loma Linda (California USA).

In the golden age of technological and medical advancements, everyone is looking for that magical pill or diet or invention to increase their longevity. With life expectancy (the 85 plus population) on the rise, it is expected to triple to 14.6 million by 2040, in USA. We want to be mentally sharp and physically strong for as long as possible. Experts say our genes only account for about 20%-30% of our longevity. That means we can increase our health span which affect our aging about 70%-80% through good lifestyle; stay active/exercise, stay optimistic, practice kindness, maintain friendship, and stay connected for optimal physical and mental health. So, exactly which habits matter the most:

Healthy gut: Eat Resistant Starch (eg. Sweet potatoes), that feeds the friendly bacteria in our intestine and increases the production of short-chain fatty acids, butyrate. Consume Polyphenols (eg. Berries, red wine, olive oil, dark greens), spices (garlic, clove, turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg), avoid lectins (toxic plant proteins in eggplants, tomatoes, bell pepper), nuts (they are rich in protein, fiber, antioxidants, and a great source of vitamins and minerals, such as copper, magnesium, potassium, folate, niacin)

Moderate, regular physical activity: walking, exercise

Moderate caloric intake

Plant based diet

Socialization, Engagement in Spirituality and Religion

Avoid Hormone Disruptors: pesticides, BPAs, phthalates, parabens in personal products

Put things in Perspective: slow down and prioritize, everything is not urgent and an emergency, listen to your body

Engagement in Family Life

Stress Reduction

Proper Sleep

Aromatherapy using Essential Oil: Essential Oils are natural, volatile, liquid, concentrated extracts taken from the roots, leaves, seeds, bark, or blossoms of plants. Should be diluted for a safe topical application following an expert advice and all safety rules. Longevity Essential Oils support antioxidants by attaching to free radicals, which minimizes the potential harmful effects and is important for youthful-looking skin. Essential oils also help with stress and sleep problems. Following essential oils could be used for longevity aid:

Frankincense, Orange, Clove, Thyme, Argon, Myrrh, Fennel, Carrot Seed, Rose

Alleviate Heel Pain with Aromatherapy

Alleviate Heel Pain with Aromatherapy
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING

Do you know……. Heel pain can result from variety of conditions, like; Plantar Fasciitis, Haglund’s Deformity, Achilles tendonitis, etc.

Plantar Fasciitis

Our feet is the most neglected part of our body, while they deserve lot of pampering, because our feet carry our weight (light or heavy) day after day without any vacation except for the night time when most of us are in bed sleeping or if we are sick. We cram our feet into tight socks, gym shoes, and pinching high heels, or standing around chatting-working, or walking to class-work-to the car, or running to catch a train-bus, or exercising, etc., etc. Energetically the feet represent our connection with earth and rooting us to mother nature, the sense of being grounded.

Many people experience heel pain with first few steps in the morning due to Plantar fasciitis, an inflammation of the plantar fascia, which is a thick connective tissue running across the sole of the foot. Tenderness usually subsides with movement, however being in motion for too long and getting up from the chair can trigger discomfort once again. Overweight people or those being flat-footed or having a high arch or abnormal walking pattern or wearing ill-fitted footwear may face foot problems more.

Haglund’s deformity (pump bump) is a bony enlargement on the back of the heel near the Achilles tendon that becomes irritated when the bony enlargement rubs against shoes and often leads to painful bursitis between the tendon and bone. This condition is usually caused by wearing shoes that are too tight or stiff in the heel or pump-style high heels.

The Achilles tendon is a thick tendon located in the back of the leg attaches to the upper part of the heel. Inflammation of this tendon (generally seen in athletes or overactive people) causes swelling, soreness, and tightness.

Heel Pain

Inflammation is the root cause of many diseases including heel pain. Generally, people try to find the easiest solution to this problem by popping a painkiller, however synthetic analgesics have a list of side effects. Medical experts suggest, plantar fasciitis can be improved or reversed with simple foot stretches and leg exercises, heel lifts, icing that will increase the flexibility and strength of feet.

Our priority should be to restore the health of our feet. A great safe way to reduce tenderness, inflammation of feet, and improve blood circulation would be with Aromatherapy using Essential oils. Since centuries, Essential Oils have been utilized in cosmetics, fragrances, for healing, health remedies, and as an antiseptic. These Essential Oils are natural, volatile, liquid, concentrated extracts taken from the roots, leaves, seeds, bark, or blossoms of plants and should be diluted for a safe topical application following an expert advice and all safety rules. This does not mean that essential oils are proven cure for Plantar Fasciitis, but it is easy to understand potential benefits of essential oils and the powerful mind-body connection. If you find relief and calmness from using essential oils, feel free to continue using them. Best essential oils to relieve heel pain are: Lavender, Bergamot, Basil, Peppermint, Ginger, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Frankincense.

Pain-Relief Massage Blend

Friendly Ergonomic Home Office

Friendly Ergonomic Home Office
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know……… A recent study found that in U.S.A., at least 1 in 4 people are working from home and have children learning from home due to Covid-19 outbreak. As remote work and distance learning has become a new norm, it is important to set up an

             Healthy Home Office

ergonomically friendly, healthy home office for optimum efficiency. Productivity is the foundation of a successful workday. Therefore, people should get away from the couch or bed and set up an affordable workstation at a desk or table as well as proper study area for children to avoid aches, pains, carpal tunnel syndrome, eyes strain, neck sprain, and leg cramps. According to occupational therapists and physical therapists, following are the important steps to protect health from the dangers of sitting in wrong posture or sitting too long at a desk:

Chair: Finding a chair that has good lumbar support, adjustable height and adjustable armrests. Can use a small pillow or a rolled up towel placed between the lower back and chair for necessary lumbar support. Chair should be set so feet is flat on the floor with hips and knees at a 90-degree angle. For younger children or if the user’s feet do not reach the floor, a footrest or a footstool can be used.

Computer screen: Should be aligned properly with the screen. Ideally, screen should be an arm’s length away with the top of the screen at or slightly below eye level, so not constantly looking down at it.

Desk or table: Desk or table should be tall enough so to have clearance for legs and knees. Adjust chair height so arms can rest comfortably on top of the table. An adjustable sit-to-stand desk could be a good option as standing helps take pressure off spine and can help prevent strain on back.

Keyboard: Keep keyboard and mouse close by so you don’t have to stretch your arms too far for them. When using your keyboard, keep your wrists straight and your elbows slightly bent.

Taking break: Try taking a break every hour or so. Get up from chair and take a quick walk or do some quick spot exercises to increase blood circulation, avoid leg cramps. While sitting in your chair, try some shoulder rolls, deep breathing.

Staring at a screen can leave eyes feeling tired or dry. Focus on a distant object to help eye muscles relax every 20 minutes. Adjust computer settings; brightness, background color, and font size can also help make time in front of the screen easier on eyes.

Phone: If using a phone, try to install a head set or use speaker phone function if possible.

Aromatherapy: Incorporate aromatherapy using essential oils to reduce the stress and uplift mood together with increased concentration, freshness, and therapeutic benefits.

Uplifting, Gp-to Freshness Blend:

          Essential Oil Uplifting Blend

15 drops Spearmint or Peppermint Essential oil

15 drops Grapefruit Essential oil

10 drops Bergamot Essential oil

8 oz Distilled Water

Witch Hazel

In 8oz glass spray bottle add essential oils, fill ¾ with distilled water and rest with witch hazel, cover, label, mix well. Spray into the air or the office room as often as needed. Shake bottle well before each use.

Essential Oil for Frostbite

DIY Essential Oil Blend for Frostbite
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know…… Frostbite causes the skin to become cold, pale, and numb from poor circulation after exposure to the cold. People living in colder climate where temperature drops beyond zero degrees or when people are engaged in winter sports activities, or mountaineering could get frostbite. Frostbite occurs as result of lengthy exposure of skin to extreme cold (freezing) that damages the blood vessels and tissues due to poor blood circulation. This commonly affects extremities (fingers, toes), nose, ears, where extreme cold alters blood circulation and causes burning or itching sensation, hardening, numbness, purplish-red skin, swelling, pain, and sometimes resulting in gangrene. Children and elderly suffering from bad blood circulation or by the Raynaud’s disease, are most susceptible to the effects of cold.

Frostbite occurs in several stages. The signs and symptoms of frostbite depend on the extent and depth of tissue injury:

Frostbite Stages

Frostnip: is a mild form of frostbite leads to numbness in the affected area, may feel pain and tingling. Frostnip does not permanently damage the skin.

Superficial frostbite: appears as reddened skin that turns white or pale. Skin may begin to feel warm, a sign of serious skin involvement. If treat frostbite with rewarming at this stage, the surface of skin may appear mottled. May notice stinging-burning and swelling. A fluid-filled blister may appear 12 to 36 hours after rewarming the skin.

Deep (severe) frostbite: advanced frostbite exposure affects all layers of the skin, including the underlying tissues. Skin turns white or bluish gray, may experience numbness, losing all sensation of cold, pain or discomfort in the affected area. Joints or muscles may no longer work. Large blisters from 24 to 48 hours after rewarming. Later the affected area turns black and hard as the tissue dies, subsequently Gangrene can develop, placing the individual at high-risk for infection and may also necessitate amputation.

Mild to medium frostbite can be treated quite easily and may take 5-10 days to heal completely. However, severe frostbite, hypothermia (a condition in which body loses heat faster than it can be produced) needs immediate emergency medical attention. Signs and symptoms of hypothermia include: intense shivering, slurred speech, drowsiness and loss of coordination. While waiting for emergency medical help or a doctor’s appointment, take appropriate self-care measures of protecting the affected area from further cold, not walking on frostbitten feet.

There are many natural cures together with aromatherapy (use of essential oils) for mild to medium frostbite to help warm up and soothe pain from the cold:

First and foremost, wear appropriate clothing in severe weather to stay warm; thick wool socks, gloves with liners, heavy or down jacket, scarf, hat, etc
Dehydration is a result as well as a contributory factor to frostbite. Replenish body fluids and restore the salt and sugar balance by drinking plenty of fluids.
Almonds, soak 5-6 almonds overnight, in the morning grind with Aloe Vera to make a paste and apply on affected areas. Almonds are rich in Vitamin E which our body requires for repairing and growing new tissue.
Ginger, fresh Ginger regulates healthy blood circulation and help the blood in reaching the peripheral parts of the body. Prepare some fresh ginger tea and drink warm with honey or can consume some crushed fresh ginger with honey. Honey is also an anti-bacterial and will prevent from infection.

Essential Oils, are aromatic, volatile, therapeutic, liquid concentrate, extracted and distilled from the leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, and/or other parts of a plant. Essential Oils can be inhaled, or applied topically with proper dilution on wrist, neck, temple, or can be used in diffuser. For frostbite can use: Pine, Cypress. Lavender, Tea tree, Clove, Thyme, Frankincense Essential oils
Soothing Frostbite Essential Oil Blend
