Quick Glance at Pranic Healing

Quick Glance at Pranic Healing
A Lovely Monday Morning to You All!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING

Do you know…….. Pranic healing originated in India. It was mentioned in ancient Indian texts that sages and yogis practiced Pranic healing with body’s innate ability to heal itself to treat illnesses. Pranic Healing utilizes “Life force,” “Energy,” or “Prana”. Prana is the Sanskrit word means “Life-force” that sustains us physically, emotionally, and mentally. It has many names from ancient wisdom traditions: “Prana” is the energy that is moved in Yoga, the “Mana” used by Kahunas for healing, the Chinese refer as “Chi” that is manipulated in acupuncture and generated in Tai Chi, and it is the “Ki” used to defend oneself in martial arts Aikido in Japan, it is the “Ruah” or “Manna” mentioned in the bible and what the Greek philosophers called “Pneuma”. This invisible bio-energy or vital energy keeps the body alive and maintains good health. Now, it is practiced by hundreds across the world.

“Miracles are fantastic events, which utilized hidden laws of nature. Most people are unaware of these laws. Miracles do not break the laws of nature, they are actually based on them.”  Grand Master Choa Kok Sui.

Pranic healing is a simple, yet powerful and effective “no-touch” energy healing modality based on the fundamental principle that the body is a self-repairing entity, developed by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, modern founder of Pranic Healing®. He developed Pranic Healing over 20 years period using experimentation and evidence-based research which has shown to have immediate positive results contributing to better health and wellbeing. The healing process is accelerated by increasing the life force or vital energy to the affected part of the body. Pranic energy comes from three different sources: the sun, the earth, and the air. We can also get Pranic energy from plants, water, and food. Pranic healing is applied on the bio-electromagnetic field (the aura, or energy body) surrounding the physical body. Researchers hope the next decade will bring significant increases in research efforts to study the impact of biofield therapies in promoting health. Pranic healing can be used to help in the healing of:

            Pranic Healing

Stress and anxiety
Increase energy levels
Improve immunity

Pain Management

During my travel this last winter, I was introduced to Master Stephen Co’s (studied and trained under Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, the founder of Pranic Healing, for over 20 years and was given the opportunity to share these teachings in the United States. He is the co-author of “The Power of Prana” & “Your Hands Can Heal You” and has been sharing these teachings worldwide since 1988) several You Tube Pranic Healing sessions as well as live zoom sessions. As a clinical Aromatherapist and a Reiki healer, I got inspired with this energy healing modality. Since then, I have been constantly working on to increase my knowledge of Pranic Healing technique and looking forward to soon incorporate into my practice.

Some of the popular Essential Oils used during Meditation and Healing are:

Aromatic Bath

Do you know………….. For our own tender-loving-care, we can create a soothing, invigorating, yet relaxing spa in the comfort of our own home without patronizing spas and spending money. Amidst our unavoidable busy life style, balancing family-friend-work obligations, it’s important to create some time to de-stress, unwind, indulge and meditate, allowing our bodies to rejuvenate.

“There’s no place like a bath to stretch your soul and listen to your own inner voice.” -Seneca(Roman philosopher, statesman, dramatist)

This could be accomplished with an Aromatic Relaxing Bath. This bath not only cleans the body, but relaxes both body and mind and imparts a peaceful calming feel that is necessary for staying healthy. It also gives a chance to be alone and can indulge in your favourite book, if so desire. Since centuries, Essential oils have been traditionally used for medicinal and spiritual health purposes. Extracted from plants, essential oils bring the healing properties of mother nature right to our tub. Adding essential oils to a bath, based on their therapeutic properties, can help:

Relieve Stress and combat Depression
Boost Immunity and getting Energized
Decrease Inflammation
Aid in Digestion
Healthy Skin
Respiratory stimulation

Forgiveness the Life Mantra

Forgiveness the Life Mantra
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING

Do you know…….Today, I heard on Brahma Kumaris ((World Spiritual Organization), a very important message, “If you are still holding onto anger, mistrust, or the sadness from the past, you will project those feelings onto anyone new who comes in your life. Resentment does not protect you from anything, but it does prevent you from connecting deeply with people who try to love you in the future. Heal your heart not just for you, but for everyone who comes in your future path.”

Forgiveness is a controversial subject of discussion, difficult to agree upon, and hard to achieve. I understand it is not easy to forgive the person who betrayed us. We hold on to that anger of being deceived and fooled intentionally, but it always made us feel worse. Studies revealed, forgiveness has clear, positive effects on human well-being. It is an important aspect of maintaining social order, fostering social relationships, and promoting physical health. Most importantly, forgiveness is liberating for human spirit. According to Chinese medicine, negative emotions are believed to cause a disruption in the body’s energy system, often connected to certain meridians and organs in the body. Most world religions include teachings on forgiveness, which provide guidance for the practice of forgiveness. The concept of forgiveness might differ, but it stil

l calls for love and pure heart. I liked this simple Hawaiian forgiveness ritual of Ho’oponopono, based on using few simple sentences to help you forgive, forget the past, heal and bless yourself and others.  Four tenets are disclosed for creating peace with oneself and others: “I am sorry, Please forgive me, I love you, and Thank you.”

“Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.” We could choose to harbor resentment, be a victim and remain energetically stuck in that entanglement, be stressed out from deep seated emotions, or we could choose to forgive and let it go. So, it is good practice to start working

on forgiveness gradually to release the stored emotions from the key meridians and organs in the body. Before we could forgive this other person, we need to first forgive ourselves. The stress response in our body cannot differentiate between current physical stresses or emotional and thought driven stressors. A body in stress cannot heal. As a Clinical Aromatherapist, as a Reiki and Energy Healer, to really help people heal, we need to address the problem at its root and help them release their deeply embedded unpleasant emotions, experiences, and negative thought patterns.

Researchers have found that Essential oils are a great way to reconnect back with nature and to achieve feelings of peace and forgiveness. When we inhale a distinct aroma, the scent travels through the olfactory system (controls our sense of smell) to the limbic system of our brain that produces a distinct response to the aroma to enhance our well-being and manage emotions. Higher frequency essential oil (human brain vibrates i.e. has frequency of 72-90 MHz and healthy body vibrates at 62-72 MHz – refer to my blog, Vibrational Healing with Aromatherapy 06012020, on my web site: aromawellness.net) over 90 MHz, helps us release things quicker by raising our spiritual awareness and allow the soul to forgive, forget and release negative energies. Based on individual requirement, can use following category essential oils to reap the benefit:

Calming Essential oils: Floral oils, are typically composed of monoterpene alcohols that have calming properties; Rose, Jasmine, Geranium
Grounding Essential Oils: Tree, herb, and grass oils, primarily include sesquiterpenes, esters, and oxides that have grounding, soothing emotions and feelings of renewal properties; Frankincense, Sandalwood
Uplifting & Energizing Essential Oils: Citrus oils, typically possess limonene, beta-pinene, and monoterpenes and Peppermint oil is energizing because high concentration of ketones; Bergamot, Lemon
Warming Essential Oils: Typically Spice oils, because of their phenol content; Coriander, Cinnamon
Use our Serenity Blend Spray for achieving a state of relaxation and refreshing feel. Can be misted lightly on body and neck or use as a room freshener.

Rewire Brain with Aromatherapy

Rewire Brain with Aromatherapy
A Lovely  Labor Day Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know…………..As we age, we fear for cognitive decline. This could be a matter of stress and depression. Of course, now a days stress reduction seems to be a cure-all. To a certain extent it is true, but not applicable

                         Brain Plasticity

everywhere. According to Molly Wagster, a neuroscientist at the National Institute on Aging, almost all of us will experience some age-related decline in memory and learning. Research has shown that in fact the brain never stops changing through learning and Plasticity is the capacity of the brain to change with learning. Neuroplasticity or brain plasticity refers to the brain’s ability to change throughout life. To facilitate the strengthening of change in our brains, we have to constantly train it to develop new positive skills and memory. To slow  mental aging for harnessing brain potential to the fullest, keeping the mind sharp and acquiring new skills is very important together with negative and positive thought patterns as well. Studies have shown, it could be achieved by:

Solving puzzles, playing cards, word games: for maintaining cognition and improving memory, slowing down Dementia, Alzheimer

Playing musical instrument, playing adequate favourite sports: for staying active and coordination

Appropriate exercises, healthy diet (no food low in sugar, consume food high in fiber), healthy life style (not smoking, no alcohol consumption): for maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding the risk of fracture from fall due to excess weight, to combat arthritis, keeping heart healthy

Socializing (visiting friends, attending church-temple-synagogue, volunteering): for emotional and cognitive function, feeling needed, sense of belonging

Mindful meditation and yoga: for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being

Preventive Health care and diagnostic testing: for detection of hearing loss, eye diseases (glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts), loss of bone density (osteoporosis), high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, other chronic conditions

As the fundamental units of the brain, neurons function to integrate and transmit a myriad of signals across vast and complex networks. Neurons by definition are continually forming, eliminating, and modulating (strengthening and weakening) connections in response to the constant flow of intrinsic and extrinsic signals. Our ability to process and synthesize information, ultimately producing behaviour, is dependent upon this neural plasticity. It is important to note that neuroplasticity is not a one-size-fits-all magic bullet.  It has tremendous benefit when used in very specific ways with appropriate activities, proper dietary and nutritional support. The science of neuroplasticity has to be customized to each individual according to their condition (Brain Plasticity is beyond the scope of this article, please study on your own for in depth knowledge).

Our brain is highly integrated organ and works closely with all our sensory organs. Neurons that fire together, wire together. If we develop any bad habit and we like it, our brain remembers that or if we are doing something over and over again, our brain learns, stores in memory that has lasting effect. We have to constantly motivate our brain to keep performing daily activities to stay in control of our life.

Science has shown Aromatherapy plays a key role in our brain health and altering brain waves, reducing the perception of stress, decreasing levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) and triggering positive emotional responses. To rewire the brain with Aromatherapy using Essential oils is through olfactory stimulation, or smelling. This can be accomplished by using diffusers, wearing necklaces that you can drop oils on to or by applying oils to the back of the neck or your pulse points behind the ears and neck area. When inhaling essential oils, the oils break down into tiny particulates, detected by your olfactory nerve, which connects the nose to the limbic system and reach the brain within seconds. Soon, every cell in the entire body will be affected. The limbic system manages memory, emotions, intuition and induces emotional states, such as; calmness, motivation and sleepiness.

Brain health oils that have been researched and tested include; Frankincense, Peppermint, Ylang ylang, Cedarwood, Cypress, Ginger, Rosemary, and Basil. Also, clinical trials suggest that Turmeric essential oil may slow or reverse neuro-degenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s by significantly increasing production of neural stem cells (brain stem cells) that are essential for the repair and recovery of brain function. In-vitro research suggests that Bergamot essential oil inhibits certain enzyme activity, while Lavender essential oil has been found to protect brain neurons from degeneration or injury by increasing antioxidant enzyme activities and reducing lipid peroxidation in dementia patients.

Managing Anger Diligently

Managing Anger Diligently
A Lovely  Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know…..Anger is an intense emotion and often difficult to control. I was listening to a talk on Anger Management on YouTube, where the speaker said, if we put d in front of ‘anger’, it becomes ‘danger’. Therefore, think before speaking in anger, so don’t have to regret later. There is a famous phrase, Words spoken and Arrow shot from a Bow, never comes back.

“We’re not punished for the anger, but punished by the anger.” …..Buddha

Anger management is an elaborate subject that can’t be covered here in its entirety. In short, at a time, anger could be used constructively for self- reformation, to curb the evil, or to discipline (carefully without causing any harm or hurt to others), but most of the time, anger is destructive and causes aggression, problems at work, in personal relationships, in day to day life, and many more. Uncontrolled and unexpressed anger could result in chronic conditions. We are not taught to channel anger constructively and researchers studied that typically people who are easily angered, come from families that are disruptive, chaotic, not skilled at emotional communications, and don’t know how to resolve the situation.

There are two types of anger; Explosive Anger: is like spitting volcano from the mouth, which is not a good quality to possess and, Implosive Anger: where the person acts calm from outside, but bubbling from inside. They withdraw themselves from their surroundings, are grumpy, irritable, and could explode anywhere anytime, could get violent too. Generally, people who explode with exasperation are:

Control Freaks

Perfectionist

With High Expectations

Contemplate on Negative Emotions

Full of false Ego

To diffuse the feeling of anger:

Investigate the reason of anger

Learn to Forgive and see the entire picture before reaching to a conclusion

Relaxation with deep breathing, yoga, meditation, and relaxing imagery

Better communication to avoid misconception

Practice regular exercise to alleviate stress

Take time out of the busy schedule to calm the overactive mind

Avoid arguments

Learn to love yourself and accept others as they are

Practice spirituality

Together with above mentioned life style changes, use of Essential Oils through direct inhalation or use in a diffuser, can help with calming down anger. These are: Lavender, Petitgrain,  Roman Chamomile, Vitiver, Bergamot, Ginger, Patchouli, Geranium, Ylang ylang, Myrrh, etc.

Managing Time with Compassion

Managing Time with Compassion
A Lovely  Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know……..We all have 24 hours in a day. Of which, approximately 6-8 hours we spent resting-sleeping, 8-12 hours working-job-business, 2 hours for food and miscellaneous activities, then we are left with 2 hours. Now, how do we utilize this precious 2 hours, is our personal choice? There is no one right way to live our life, but it will be wise to invest it for our betterment. We should look within and dream big (without getting psyched), being aware of our abilities and execute our desires.

Managing Time with Compassion

What brings us joy may be the right approach as long as it is constructive and not causing any harm to anyone or to self.

Nowadays in the midst of global COVID-19 pandemic, where things are out of our control and people are scared of the uncertainty, we should try to give people a little hope. It’s not only taking a heavy toll on the economy, but taking toll on emotional health of adults, seniors, as well as our teenagers are experiencing the same devastating impact of Corona virus. Even if people are staying at home or being quarantined, they should realize that it’s for our own safety and we all are in it together. We are desperate to get back to normal, but we have to follow the protective measures of wearing face-mask and social distancing.

So, to make the best of 2 hours from 24 hours a day and to maintain physical-mental health, to avoid stress, to boost our immune system, one should conscientiously practice to:

  • Get daily exercise
  • Follow a regular sleep pattern for a better good night sleep
  • Take breaks to unwind and take help from family-friends
  • Be compassionate towards others and to oneself
  • Consume healthy food
  • Do yoga and meditation to calm the mind
  • Take Aromatherapy massage and/or bath using Essential oils to manage stress

Easy DIY Hand Sanitizer

Easy DIY Hand Sanitizer
A Lovely  Monday Morning to you all!
PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know……..Before writing the recipe of this hand sanitizer, I couldn’t avoid mentioning the COVID-19. As the global community confronts the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it’s every individual’s responsibility to practice adequate healthy and safe habits. With still many unknowns and emerging challenges it

DIY Easy Hand Sanitizer

is no doubt a very stressful and difficult time to find a sustainable way to cope, while meeting social, emotional, physical needs of all.

Due to extended lockdowns, the world economy is tumbling down. So, to boost the economy, Govt. in many countries, including USA, has opened up many of the offices, malls, restaurants. This doesn’t imply that the pandemic is over. It’s still there in a mammoth form and there is no promising cure available to date. Therefore, we are accountable for our own well-being and for the people surrounding us.

To help manage and reduce transmission of Corona viruses, everyone should try to follow these evidence-based easy convenient procedures:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Frequently use alcohol based hand sanitizer
  • Stay home when sick and cover your coughs and sneezes
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth after touching objects and surfaces
  • When you are going out, wear face mask and maintain social distancing of 6 feet

Easy DIY Hand Sanitizer

¾ cup Isopropyl alcohol (70% or greater)

½ cup Aloe Vera gel

1 Tbsp vegetable glycerine

4 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

4 drops Tea tree Essential Oil

4 drops Orange Essential Oil

In a glass measuring cup or bowl, mix Aloe Vera gel, glycerine, and rubbing alcohol. Add essential oils (can substitute other essential oil to desired smell-Lemongrass, Lavender, Cinnamon, Lemon are good choices), mix well, transfer hand sanitizer into a squeeze type or a pump bottle, label. Rub a small amount onto your hands and let them completely air-dry. Use often as desired.

Use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol not methanol and butanol, because they’re toxic.

Happiness Index

Happiness Index
A Lovely  Monday Morning to you all!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know…………There is a myth, that we get happiness with materialistic things. Yes, it’s good to have money and buy all the things that money can buy for comfort and luxury. But, these are temporary fixes.

                               Happiness Index

We should wait once in a while to check if we have lost the things that money can’t buy; our health, our love, our happiness, our peace of mind, our respect, our family. Have you ever looked at a child playing with whatever is available and creates happiness for herself/himself, but as we grow, our happiness index becomes dependent on someone else, our earning, our education, our social status, our family, our need to have power over other people. When we embody real happiness for ourselves, we enrich our lives with  better decisions and choices.

Why are we unhappy? It’s because of our physical health (WHO, analysed that on an average every 100 people has 200 illnesses), our disturbed mental-emotional health, our strained relationship, our anger-ego-greed-lust-insecurity-fear, lack of understanding and accountability, conscious. These negative qualities of our personality, makes us hostile and we start blaming others for our mishaps (often without realizing, we unknowingly gave this right to others to take advantage of our trust, of our simplicity, and as a result get hurt) and in turn lose happiness. In such situations, if we perform the random act of kindness, it leads to profound happiness in life and thankfulness for the abundance is the natural impulse to express that feeling. The ability to love, to disagree

and to accept, all stems from the state of being happy. If we perform the random act of kindness, it leads to profound happiness in life. Ultimately, whatever action gives us happiness, we start repeating it frequently, and in no time it becomes our habit. That is why, taking self-care and care of our mental health is more important than ever. Happiness means exuberant health. To attain happiness, we can follow these guidelines:

  1. Staying Grounded: by regularly practicing meditation, yoga, mindfulness, and exercising, will help with our hormonal balance, which in turn will keep our stress and anxiety in check. Also, spirituality and prayer provide people to engage in a meditative act. Researchers have studies that meditation has a strong link with happiness and well-being, because it calms the body, reduces stress, and encourage positive thinking.
  2. Avoid negativity and toxic people: who pull you down, instead of being your support.
  3. Pay attention to self-care by giving yourself a TLC(tender loving care). Catching up on tasks is great, but don’t hesitate to take breaks and pause. Pamper yourself to a nice Aromatherapy massage.
  4. Indulge in activities that gives you pleasure, but you haven’t had time for it before. You deserve it.
  5. Walk in nature to get connected with your surroundings and the beautiful mother nature.
  6. Be compassionate to others and spread kindness, you will get blessings in return.
  7. Spend quality times with your loved ones.
  8. Finally, smell your favourite Essential oil that has the power to affect person’s mood.

Essential Oils are natural, volatile, liquid plant extracts with different therapeutic properties and have been used since ancient times to cure different ailments. A sense of smell is one of the five senses and a powerful connector between people and the world around them. Aromas are highly emotive and everyone reacts to scents differently based on their past experiences, memory, and emotions. This, in turn, may provide some relief in mood disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and help with feelings of happiness.Tangerine, Peppermint and Eucalyptus essential oils can help with the mental focus, discipline, and coping mechanisms, Grapefruit essential oil helps to uplift, to cheer up, while Rose absolute and Geranium essential oil brings balance of spirit and feeling of harmony. Rosemary is clarifying, Sandalwood, Clove, Frankincense essential oils, help with breathing, grounding, and to stay centered.

Note: The Happy Planet Index measures what matters: sustainable well-being for all. It tells us how well nations are doing at achieving long, happy, sustainable lives. The Global Emotions survey ranks South American countries at the top of the list. Conversely the World Happiness survey ranks Scandinavian countries highly. If you combine the results of both surveys in 2019, Canada and Iceland end up being the “happiest” countries, and not Finland or Denmark, which have grabbed the most headlines due to the popularity of the World Happiness Report. So much depends on the definition of happiness. Can read more, https://worldhappiness.report/ed/2020/#read

Rest to Revitalize

Rest to Revitalize
A Lovely Monday Morning to you all!

PLEASE STAY SAFE FROM CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19). FOLLOW GOOD HAND HYGIENE and MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Do you know………..Our mind and body function interdependently as a whole. It is important to realize the role of rest in our life. We can’t achieve physical wellness, if other parts of our life is stressed and under unrest mode. Generally, our overall attitude is to try to minimize rest as much as possible to

Rest to Revitalize

accomplish more, thinking we are being more productive and efficient, without realizing we are damaging our physical, mental, and spiritual health causing more challenges. We are so much attached to our worldly affairs that we forget to find the true meaning of life in our surroundings, in the serenity of our mother nature, and always feel ‘Short of Time’. It is so ironic, that in this so called modern age, we are constantly making inventions to save time for every activity, but in every conversation, we hear repeatedly, ‘I don’t have time to spare or not even to die’.

“If you relax your mind, it can begin working for you.” – Bryant McGill

We should have a set of daily routine to stay organized and function efficiently, but be flexible and adaptable. If one day things don’t get done as per schedule, it should not be the matter of stress and it won’t be the end of the world. We just have to break lose our negative destructive pattern of daily living and rewire our subconscious mind to restructure our personal excellence. We do have to set realistic goals to avoid stress, anxiety, and feeling of failure. We should not consider ourselves, ‘Do it all Individual’, that’s when we end up falling flat on our face frustrated and stressed out. So, it’s always a good practice to seek help from others when desired and be willing to help others in need.

Generally, when we are talking about rest, we think only about sleep, but rest is more than just

sleep. Yes, sleep is very crucial for the normal function of our body, but rest includes self-care, relaxation, entertainment, enjoying a hobby, doing restful activities, and power down our minds for a while, (Please refer to my blog of May 12, 2018, Self-care with Essential Oils). In Ayurveda and TCM, it’s believed that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. A quality rest helps to restore our inner peace, our Qi flows and our spirit is content, which makes our entire internal environment balanced and in harmony.

Aromatherapy using Essential Oils is good way to support the body’s own healing system, thus assist the natural abilities of our body to rest and recover from stress and illness. Essential Oils are natural, volatile, concentrated, liquid plant extracts with different therapeutic properties and have been used since ancient times to cure different ailments and to promote well-being of mind, body, and spirit. The most common use of essential oils is through topical application (aromatherapy massage) due to their small molecular size which easily gets absorbed by the skin and through inhalation or smelling essential oils that directly affects the limbic system of the brain. Following essential oils could be used for self-healing due to their relaxing, emotional well- being, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, to improve circulation, properties; Lavender, Peppermint, Tea tree, Eucalyptus, Roman Chamomile, Rosemary, Frankincense, Citrus oils, Geranium, Rose, Sandalwood, Cypress, Neroli

Avoid Holiday Stress with Aromatherapy

A Lovely Christmas-Eve Morning to you all!

Do you know………….. We’re a society of chronic stress, an awful fact, that many of us don’t realize, but everyone likes to have some peace, quiet, and the inner serenity. Especially around Holidays, we get stressed for many reasons like; the stress of planning, stress of gift exchange, stress of having family-friends over or visiting them, financial stress, and the stress of keeping up with the fast-pace schedule amidst job-family responsibilities. Though, Christmas is no doubt the best time of the year.

While vastly different, each stressful situation, whether life-threatening or simple inconvenience, or dealing with day to day life or constantly under attack by outside forces (especially, our own loved ones), triggers a fight or flight response, releasing adrenaline and cortisol into the bloodstream. Adrenaline increases blood pressure and boosts energy supplies, while cortisol releases glucose into the bloodstream, and even altering the immune system which can cause some serious health risks, including:

Insomnia

High blood-pressure

Depression, Increased anxiety

To avoid the holiday stress, plan things ahead of time including the regular weekly schedule, try to incorporate 20-60 minutes of daily exercise routine, make sure to have 8 hours of quality sleep per night, and spend time with family-friends-loved ones to comfort the heart and soul.
